“Friendly, good value, good fish”
Reviewed December 10, 2011

Cosy, friendly restaurant attached to fish shop. 29 euro three course dinner with a good selection of fish. A la carte has everything from oysters to lobster at reasonable prices. We had an excellent fish soup and sole main. Desert was from the local patisserie but pleasant enough. Good local white wines around 20 euros.

“Probably the best fish/seafood restaurant in the area”
Reviewed November 24, 2011

Locally, this restaurant has a very good reputation. Deservedly so. We stuck to the evening 'menu' at just under 30 euros each. As this is a fishmonger with restaurant attached, the fish and seafood was as fresh as any I've seen (live seafood). The food was quite excellent and the portions generous. The couple we ate with originate from London. They eat out very often, and stated that the meal 'would cost three times as much in an equivalent restaurant in London' (but that it would be difficult to find one with as good quality ingredients) One, who has lived in France for seven years, and has eaten at michelin starred restaurants, described it as, 'the best meal I've had in France'. (she had lemon sole). High praise indeed.
My starter was half a large Langoustine (I would say between 250-300 grams in weight) My wife had 6 oysters. For mains we both had coquilles st jacques with fish and seafood in a morrel mushroom sauce. My wife described the meal as 'perfect'.
The service was friendly and jovial but professional.
Going a-la-carte can get expensive but sticking to the set menu provided us with a superb value meal.
As we got up to leave, the restaurant was just about full. A good sign on a Thursday evening in any restaurant!
The wine list is good.
It's probably best to reserve a table especially at weekends.

“Fish in fish shop”
Reviewed October 18, 2011

The freshness of the fish if guarantee by the real type f business…. This is a fish shop firstly then a restaurant, serving every day a different kind of menu based on daily available fish.

Good wine are side compliment for the dishes.
Staff prompt and professional.
If you are rugby fans, will find in the owner a great supporter of Castres Olympique.
