“Majestic”
Reviewed June 18, 2014 via mobile

The largest brick building in the world. Its sights are completely mind-blowing. The outside is my favorite part, just standing there overwhelmed by its size.

“Dark and damp”
Reviewed June 18, 2014

Dark, dusty, over-ornate and smelled of damp. Designed to put the fear of God into you. Not a patch on Salisbury or Winchester Cathedrals which soar to the sky and are light and bright.

“Cathedrale Ste-Cecile”
Reviewed June 12, 2014

I hated this church…Maybe it was because there was not much sunshine that day so it was dark inside, but the alter had a fresco of many nude females all on their way to hell it seemed and for some reason, it made me very cross and pensive. The church in the past, really had it in for women …did not stay long there..There were too many tourists inside..all chattering and looking ridiculous with their translator headphones on..Now I'm not religious, but this was very disrespectful…Couldn't wait to leave this church.

“WOW!”
Reviewed June 11, 2014

Wow! Charge a little too much but they are renovating and the place was magnificent in its architecture! By-golley-gee-whizz did they build a place! And bones of saints were there in cases which was unreal to know it was someone. It was a quick inny-outty job but ok to view and kill abit of time!

“Beautiful cathedral with elaborate rood screen”
Reviewed June 6, 2014

The ceiling and the rood screen are so ornate. I think it is worth going into the choir area just to see the inside of the rood screen. That area requires an additional fee although entering the main part of the church is free to visit. The stone carving is amazing. They are in the process of restoring parts so some areas were covered or off-limits. Once they clean and restore everything, I expect it may be too bright and gaudy.
