Basically a temporary garden around a fountain, surrounded by the opera house, the temple neuf and the banks of the canal Moselle. Not that much to see.

There was a lovely garden with impressive flowers and charming walkways when we visited. Otherwise, I'm sure the benches and the fountains with a view of the cathedral are lovely, but with the garden added, it's beautiful!

A typical, impressive French Square - very nice to look at and rest a while. There are benches opposite the square, so you can relax and watch. Or you can turn around and enjoy the beautiful view on the cathedral or Temple Neuf.

A pleasant architectural mix with a fine café terrace and free book depot welcomes you when you've had enough of looking at high street chains. Actually, don't even bother with the shops, just have a drink at the café and admire the incomparable view of the cathedral and Temple Neuf.

The whole riverside area including Place de la Comedie is impressive .The different styles of architecture show the development of the city through the ages and its all illuminated at night to great effect.

Comedy square is a nice place with beautiful buildings of theater, plenty of flowers and fountain, but it has big competitors in the near Le Temple Neuf and views to the Mosel rivers, so it didn't attract my attention too much.

Impressive backdrop for this temporary garden which has popped-up in front of the building.

The building is lovely although closed when we visited - hence why I only mention the garden.

This place caught us off guard. We saw the garden and thought it looked interesting but when you get closer it's really quite cool. They have done an amazing job of promoting gardens by simply placing this hear and showing what can be done with what you've got. If you're and amateur gardener or even a pro I think this is worth a look.

La place de la comedie is a beautiful flourishing square in front of the impressive complex of theaters, music and opera halls. From here you can stroll along the lovely promenade on the banks of the Moselle River, watching the city's oldest buildings from the Middle Ages and the cathedral spires on the skyline of Metz.

This is a nice spot to relax and take photos. We enjoyed the gardens and view of the island. Easy walk from the cathedral.
