We stopped in Metz - an interesting, historically important small city which we had visited previously - just to experience the Centre Pompidou for the first time. All I can say is: great architecture, but little else. As the museum doesn't have a permanent collection, the prospective visitor should inquire beforehand as to what temporary exhibits are on show, The excellent parking solution could serve as an example for city centre attractions elsewhere.
