My third steak in 2 weeks in France was the only one worthy of the name - although slightly too well done for medium. Flavoursome and tender. My wife had shoulder of lamb with a mixed vegetable garnish that looked like a dry ratatouille and tasted lovely - although I was not allowed to test this.
The highlight was the best dauphinoise ever. How can such a simply conceived dish taste so magnificently.
Cheese included a goat's cheese with yellow rind. Waitress did tell me its name - but forgotten. It was hard and creamy.
Service was 100% right - attentive and unobtrusive.
