“Very impressive!”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

This should definitely be the #1 place to visit in Limoges, as it looks amazing from all sides. As mentioned by others, around the cathedral there is a nice quiet and peaceful atmosphere, and it's easy to spend a relaxed afternoon around the cathedral, just enjoying the views and the atmosphere.

If you are visiting Limoges and you only have time to visit one thing, be sure to go see this cathedral!

“Great organ sounds”
Reviewed August 9, 2013 via mobile

We were lucky enough to visit while someone was practising various organ pieces. A large cathedral but also one that seems welcoming.

“Peaceful and Interesting”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

Limoges is a city divided in two for the tourist and also served by two tourist offices. The cathedral is large, airy although somewhat dark inside. It is an attractive building, conveniently placed next to the Beaux Arts Museum. Inside the cathedral there is a statue of a black Madonna and although one can buy a photo of it, there is no other postcards or booklets on it.

This part of Limoges is on the flatter part, the other part is on higher ground and contains the Limoges Porcelain Museum

“Historic cathedral with a wonderful, peaceful atmosphere.”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

This cathedral has had a long and chequered history, affected by various medieval upheavals and religious wars. Although not one of the largest French cathedrals, the height of the nave is impressive, but our abiding impression is of the movingly peaceful atmosphere inside.

Certainly a 'must " for people visiting Limoges. The history of the cathedral, the stained glass windows and the atmosphere requires you to be moved by the beauty of this place.
