“Beautiful house with great character in a peaceful and convenient location”

This, our second visit to Les Deux Cypres, was even better than the first. The house, beautifully converted from an ancient farmhouse, has great character with all the necessary comforts and conveniences, and is a lovely place for a restful break. We were grateful for the efficient central heating as the week started with fresh, early spring weather, but we were soon enjoying eating out in the sunny courtyard. Joel and Mereille the caretakers were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We found the location ideal for visiting the roman and medieval sites in the region.

“An Enchanted Stay!”

Our 2 weeks at Inge and Robert’s home in Sanilhac-Sagries was a very pleasurable and enchanting adventure. Walking into and exploring their 17th century stone home, located within in a small, very quiet village just south of Uzes, was itself an experience to remember and enjoy. It was as if we were living in a small medieval castle, but with all the modern conveniences and comforts we needed. There is a large, well equipped kitchen with a combination electric/gas stove/oven, a large master bedroom with ensuite bathroom (up 3 steps) and a king size very comfortable, bed.
Off the kitchen is a walled, private courtyard for sitting or lounging and the same can be done on the private, rooftop patio, overlooking the village.
The home is well located for day trips by car to the many different villages, towns and cities with their “markets” and attractions, all within anywhere from 5 to 60 minutes.
Inge was a very pleasant, efficient, well organized and accommodating host, from our first contact to the final wrap up for our vacation. It was also very comforting and helpful to have Joel, the property manager, living only steps away, if we had any questions or needed help.

Dear David & Pat,
thank you so much for your lovely review and we are so happy that you enjoyed staying at our unique French home. Ancient French stone houses are so different in their very nature and preserve a style of living not found in modern houses, but with all the up to date conveniences and comforts.
We hope that one day you will come back and explore more of the surrounding countryside, such as the Cevennes, the Camargue, the Languedoc region and all the wonderful festivals that the South of France has to offer. It was a great pleasure hosting you.
Sending you greetings to your amazing country too, that is Canada.
Inge & Robert

“Fantastic French house - perfect for relaxing or visiting local sights”
Reviewed July 19, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Beautiful stone house full of French charm, situated in a peaceful village location (with yummy bakery) - within easy reach (10min drive) of a supermarket and the wonderful traditional town of Uzes. We also visited nearby Nimes and Pont Du Gard. The house had everything we needed - a choice of outside relaxing areas, the sunny roof terrace with sofas and the pretty courtyard garden with table and deckchairs. The house is spacious and well furnished with everything we needed for a wonderful holiday. We didn't want to come home!
