“Very unique place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2012

We stayed in this b&b for one night and we enjoyed it.
Our room was called Florence and was on the second floor, was very nicely and uniquely decorated, clean and fairly big. The only small negative point was the spiral staircase which could do with a bit of a nicer decoaration and no TV (we never watch it anyway, but it might be important to some people).
The location is perfect with about 5 minute's walk to the main square. Breakfast was nice and served out in the garden which we really enjoyed. The landlady was friendly and gave us some good tips about what to do (you should visit the medieval herb garden as you can climb the tower and the view from there is absolutely breathtaking).
We can definitely recomend this place.

Maison de la Bourgade is a beautiful, peaceful place to stay, made even more lovely by the wonderful hospitality of Elisabeth and Francois. They could not have been more gracious and accommodating in welcoming us and making sure that our stay was as pleasant as possible. Our room, the Arthur, was clean, spacious and comfortable and it was lovely to spend the hot afternoons in the beautiful garden by the pool. The breakfast served each morning was delicious (wonderful jams, homemade crepes, etc) and the hotel is right next to the main square in Uzes, making it a convenient location for exploring the town. There is also a private parking garage next door to the hotel, very useful if you've hired a car to explore the region. Overall we found it to be an absolutely lovely, tranquil place to be and were very sad to go...we can't wait to stay there again.

This b&b is well worth a stay. We had the room named Thomas which is on the first floor up some steepish stairs. The stairs were not a problem, as the proprietors were more than willing to get the heavy suitcases to and from the room. Being on the first floor, there is a nice view over the grassed courtyard and swimming pool area, neither of which was ever crowded, and had plently of sun loungers and seating. A nice touch was the serving of aperitifs, on the lawn, toward evening.
Our room was large with a huge en suite...much more than adequate. A minor irritant was that the over bath shower was by means of a hand held shower head, so washing with one hand holding the shower with the other was a mission. Big bath though.
The air conditioning was superb. Parking a fer doors away was well secured behind a code operated door, the b&b a bit hard to find for a first time visitor...I would ask for detailed directions, but the location in the old town is superb, easy walking distance to restaurants/market etc.
A minor observation, the breakfast was VERY French, but adequate.
If anything I suspect the room rate was capable of being increased, such was the location and ambience. I would add 10 or 20 Euro, and add a little more variety to the breakfast and invest in a coffee machine.
I would definitely return to these lodgings, or possibly consider the sister property next door which is self catering.

When we arrived @ this b&b ( in May 2011 ) we were greeted by a lovely gentleman , Mr Lallemand, who showed us to the courtyard area where he served us lovely refreshments...good start. The rooms are next door to the main part of the house and our room ( Florence ) was tastefully decorated in a rustic provencial style. Mrs Lallemand informed us that the local food markets were on and would be a good place to purchase food for lunch. Great markets in the town square...we got afew things and headed back to the b&b for a picnic lunch in the courtyard near the pool. When Mrs Lallemand noticed us enjoying our lunch she quickly pointed our that it is NOT ALLOWED !! God knows when you are allowed to access & use the garden area !! She also sternly pointed out that the heated towel rails in the rooms are NOT ALLOWED to be used because of the expense. I accidently left one on so maybe she should get rid of them. I was starting to feel like I was back at boarding school & the madam of the house was the mean 'mother superior' !!! The b&b is in a good location with secure car accommodation. The cleanliness of our room was adequate but there is a definite drainage problem in the bathroom. The bath takes along time to empty and the water must be so hard that the soap scum was excessive !!The plug didn't seal enough to hold water long enough to have a decent bath & there was only a hand held shower hose!! No toiletries provided and the bed was hard. There was no fridge or kettle and considering your not in the main part of the house this would have been handy plus if you leave wine in their fridge you cannot access it after 9pm. The rooms were not serviced for the 3 days we were there. The website images are abit deceiving. Basic breakfast in a charming provincial country kitchen. Our hosts had family staying so you really didn't have access to sit in the lounge room as we were told on occasions to be quiet as the baby was sleeping. Loved Uzes but was glad to leave this b&b.

We spent a wonderful five days at La Maison de la Bourgade, with our two children, aged 8 and 10. Everything about the establishment was perfect - the charming, warm and friendly hosts, the gorgeous surroundings, the proximity to the centre of town (a 3-minute walk away), the delicious and fresh breakfasts, the comfortable and cosy accommodation, the peaceful haven in the garden .... I could go on and on. The only negative about La Maison was having to leave it at the end of our stay and I can't wait to go back.
Uzes is a beautiful town, located in an area where there is loads to do. If you want to go sightseeing and be active, there is plenty to keep you busy, and if you want to relax you could not ask for more beautiful surroundings to relax in. We ate some delicious food in the town at various restaurants (Bec au Vin was the highlight) and we loved the atmosphere of the village.

This small hotel is a very special place. Centrally located in Uzès it's run by an elegant couple, Mr. and Mrs. Lallemand, who go to great lengths to make your stay wonderful. The rooms are lovely with luxurious linens and many nice details. I lived there for two months and look forward to returning.

Room Tip: There are hotel rooms as well as small apartments with are wonderful for longer stays as a family.

This is a 5* bed and breakfast. The location is excellent, in the old city centre and a few minutes' walk from the main square. Adjacent parking is available - a great help, especially so close to the city centre. The house has a historic and traditional feel. Our room was charming, clean and well appointed; it was on the first floor and facing the narow and winding little street, but we had no problem with noise. We received a truly warm welcome from Elisabeth and François right from the start. Their local knowledge and contacts are comprehensive, and they gave excellent advice on any questions we had. After exploring this beautiful old city, and the surroundings, it was a heaven to retire to the lovely, tranquil rear garden. An exceptional feature was the breakfast served, not just the traditional French breakfast of baguettes, etc. but wonderful pancakes and fresh fruits. We liked La Maison de la Bourgade so much that we went back soon after the first visit. Don't miss it!

Room Tip: We were staying here with friends who had the same quality of room - we were on the first floor and...
