The hotel is a very good choice if one wants to combine the visit to the very nice village of Uzès with some relax. Very good value for money, the rooms are small, nice and clean. The personnel very kind. The pool was not that clean and a couple of more chaise longue might have helped.

We had always wanted to visit Uzes but never got organised as it is a three hour journey from where our house is Provence. We finally made a plan last weekend as we had some friends staying in a nearby village which gave us the perfect push to get a trip organised.

Uzes is a beautiful town so a popular destination for visitors and as we had chosen the weekend when the major summer Fete took place accommodation possibilities were going to be a matter of luck. We started searching down our normal route but as expected everything was full. In our household we seem to collect brochures, business cards etc with the intention of throwing them away when no longer relevant but somehow never getting around to doing it.! Amongst our collection was a 2010 Logis de France brochure and thumbing through we found Le Patio de Violette. From the tiny photograph it looked a possibility and it was away from the centre of Uzes which gave us hope that we might have a better chance. I am pleased to say we were in luck and two rooms were promptly booked.

We had a delightful day in Uzes but as expected it was very busy, it was also extremely hot (this summer we have been experiencing abnormal temperatures of up to and over 40°!) Hot and tired and wondering if we would ever find the energy to visit our friends for an evening meal we arrived at Le Pattio de Violette.

The complex is modern but sympathetically done - everything centres around a large patio courtyard with tables and chairs and the odd comfy sofa and beautifully shaped olive trees around the edge. The accommodation consists of rooms on two levels each accessed from the courtyard. We had a double for us and a twin for our children on the ground floor. Although very simple they were clean, had a separate loo to the walk in shower and pleasant shower gel, soap and reasonable sized towels were provided. For us the joy of air conditioning gave us the biggest thumbs up! The children were thrilled to be able to cool off in the small but well maintained pool whist the grown ups enjoyed a pleasant drink at the bar! After a lovely evening with our friends we returned to Le Patio de Violette and had the best night sleep since being in Provence.

Breakfast is what you would expect - juice, croissants, a choice of cereals, breads, cheese etc and certainly good value for money. The owners and staff were delightful and we even got a recommendation of where we could buy a second hand car. We would certainly stay at Patio de Violette again as there is so much to see in the area that we have decided to visit again for a few days in the Spring when it is cooler and less busy.

We stayed here whilst on a bike ride , we were able to store our bikes outside our room for the night . We had a lovely meal when we arrived which was included in our package but I think they usually serve drinks and lighter snacks early in the evening . The breakfast was lovely . The rooms were excellent and clean and a lovely setting . The staff were very helpful with anything we needed .

The property is lovely at this hotel. The large patio in the center of the hotel is great for relaxing with wine and snacks, and the pool was GREAT after a hot day of cycling from Avignon.
The room was basic, but clean enough and cool with AC. Bed was very comfortable, and the room was quiet.
The young man working was so helpful; he spoke French with me, but also spoke English very well. We had dinner at the hotel as part of our bike package and it was quite good!
Breakfast was just as most hotels we've stayed at in France; plenty of nice pastries and breads; yogurt, jams, and cereals.
My one very small complaint was that we had to use our bathroom towels at the pool, even though we asked for extra towels. They were wet since we had showered after our bike ride. I found that in all our French hotels, though, there were never extra towels.

This hotel, situated just outside Uzes, is well run. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are rather small but clean and quiet. During the day you can have a little lunch and a drink. At night the bar is closed. There is also a swimming-pool, you will enjoy in the heat of 'la Provence'.
