“Lovely house”
Reviewed September 23, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We were two family's of 5 each and stayed in early August. We have stated in this region before and there's lots to do from cycling to jumping off the rocks at the pont du gard, the roman amphitheatre at Nimes etc. Uzes is a beautiful market town with a good market on Wednesday and a bigger full market on Saturday.

The weather has never failed and again was around 35 for everyday except for one spectacular day of lightning.

The house itself is very well presented with an excellent kitchen that could be used to cook a feast. Or you could choose a large gas BBQ.

The rooms are excellent with three very large bathrooms/showrooms to compliment them. The top floor has air conditioning, but fans are provided for the middle Floor and as with most older property it stays much cooler than the outside temperature if you use the shutters!

The pool is large and outside area excellent, my only comment is wear footwear in the stony floored barn where there is a half size snooker table.

Thank you Graham and Vanessa for a lovely holiday.

“Mas de Pinet is amazing”
Reviewed September 17, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Mas de Pinet is amazing. Having gotten this out of the way I will try to be a little more eloquent as to the why.

The house itself is extraordinary - old, clearly it's been there for a loong time, and authentic but at the same time solid (no creaky floors or anything like that) spacious and modern - bedrooms tastefully decorated, fully equipped kitchen (dish washer was especially appreciated by my friends), all the utensils you might need for cooking, fully equipped bathroom on every floor, swimming pool, internet, satellite TV, iPod dock, wine fridge, charcoal AND gas barbecues. etc.

Location is great, the mas is part of a cluster of a couple houses/ farms in the middle of the vineyards, quite a few km's away from the closest village, I believe St. Dezery. It's right next to a somewhat busy road, which can be a little noisy when hanging by the pool, but at the same time ensure it is easily accessible.

The pool is just wow, it's quite big so swimmers don't get bored but not deep at one end so that everybody enjoyed it. A couple of bonuses - it's heated, comes with a movable volley net and a lot of flotation "devices". Starting with the night we arrived there and ending with the day we left, the pool was the place we hanged out the most as a group.

Bigger picture wise, that part of south of France is a great tourist destination, although the mas is a little west of the main attractions in Provence, there are still plenty of places to see within 60-90 minutes driving distance. Although we stayed less, I believe one week is not enough to see all the "low hanging fruits" in terms of great places to see close-by.

Having said all of the above, the things that truly made the stay there a memorable experience for us, were the little details - the bottle of wine that awaited us on the table on our arrival, the dozens of guide books for the area as well as the owner's personal recommendations for everything we might need, the barn full of entertainment options (snooker table and foosball, various balls, bikes etc) and other stuff that I don't remember right now.

We went there as a group of young friends, and obviously a big part of the fun was hanging around with people you care about and with whom you get along great. Nevertheless at the end of the stay, I personally left the place feeling lucky not only thinking that I have great friends but also that I was allowed to experience that amazing mas, and I hope to go back there some time in the future.

“Fab - u - lous”
Reviewed September 9, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We are a family of 6, and stayed one wonderful week at Mas de Pinet last month. I completely endorse the superlatives used in the previous reviews. It is a fabulous place which has been beautifully refurbished, situated in an idyllic rural spot overlooking vineyards. The bathrooms are gorgeous, the bedrooms attractive (we were spoilt for choice), the kitchen simply magnificent, the sitting area comfortable and the pool / outdoor living area was just amazing. We spent most of our time in and around the pool, and in and out of the kitchen (our 2 favourite places), plus improving our basketball shots and trampoline skills.
Cooking and food preparation was a joy with the wonderful facilities, even the children actually enjoyed being part of the prep and serving, so that was a winner! We barbecued most evenings, ate on the patio watching magnificent sunsets.

We cycled each morning to the boulangeries in nearby villages (St Chaptes and Moussac) for different delicious fresh bread.

And for further trips out, there’s the Pont du Gard (a wonderful half day seeing the Roman ruins, swimming in the river and jumping off the rocks). Uzes is a 15 minute drive (romantic and lively in the evenings; colourful and lively at the morning markets (Wednesday and Saturdays). And for the children, a trip to the Haribo factory & shop were a highlight (near Uzes). We thoroughly enjoyed an exciting evening at the Festival d'Abrivade in St Chaptes.

Graham & Vanessa were great in helping us to plan and prepare for our holiday; a huge thank you to them.
We were recommended Mas de Pinet by some close friends and we would recommend it to our friends.

“Just fantastic in every way!”
Reviewed February 27, 2013 for a stay in August 2012

We've stayed twice now at Mas de Pinet - in August 2011 and 2012. It is a simply fantastic place in every way. The written descriptions are all accurate, and of course the photos tell a bit more of the story, but they are infinitely exceeded by the experience of being there. The house has been lovingly renovated and refurnished to an incredibly high standard. Bathrooms are stunning, bedrooms beautiful, the kitchen my favourite anywhere - the whole interior, beautifully spread over three cool solid stone floors, a delightful retreat from the heat outside. Perfect. And outside of course, means lovely pool, vineyards over the boundary fence, sun, pretty courtyard, growing flower borders (more established in 2012 than the year before and bound to be even better now...), the barn with fun activities for all, snooker, darts, the bikes for cycling through the vines to get bread or whatever (recommend the baker at Moussac rather than St Chaptes). You need to know that the house is not set in a village, it's on its own next to a small road (which yes, you can hear passing traffic but not in a remotely intrusive way - in fact we like the sense of connectedness that brings!) Uzes is wonderful, 15 mins away, as is NImes and so much more. The info on all this is extensive in the house info file. In short, you'd be wise to visit here! Everything works. It's a pure joy. And undergirding it all, the pleasure of dealing with Graham & Vanessa who own it, and their helpful local reps - they add such a personal touch and have enabled us to enjoy two outstanding holidays.
