“Excellent, excellent, excellent!”

The best apartment we have stayed in for such a long time. FIVE MINUTES walk in the shade of plane trees to the centre of Uzes, passing the excellent Carrefour City supermarket, the post office, local bus station, patisseries etc on the way.
The Parc des Ducs apartments are set within a beautiful walled garden with gates and exterior doors all operated by magnetic key, extremely safe.
The walled garden at the rear of the building is an oasis of calm and its hidden secret is the delightful swimming pool complete with pool house for showering and changing. The pool was deserted all the time and it felt like our own private domain complete with the sound of cicadas echoing around the garden.
If we were not river swimming our 10 and 11 year olds splashed about contentedly in the pool and we got through a mountain of books on the pool chairs provided by the owners.
The apartment itself is modern and minimal in its furnishings, lovely sofas so easy to relax on with a wide screen TV with DVD's which was a real hit with the kids.
In the evenings we either sat at the garden dining table on the terrace of our own private little courtyard garden or walked into Uzes for a meal or an ice cream in Place des Herbes.
The kitchen was equipped to a very high standard and the bathroom was complete with washing machine. There was a written package of instructions and telephone numbers if we needed to contact the owners, and a large folder of tourist information. We were met on arrival by Corine's parents who gave us a guided tour of the building, bins etc. They were so helpful.
Yes, the garage car parking spaces are very narrow but it is France, all parking is tight and our Peugeot managed fine. No wifi but it was free at the Tourist Office and we sat at the little bar outside to check our emails and search info.
We met some of the French residents of the complex daily who always stopped to wish us a good day and enquire where we had visited.
Before arrival Corine provided us with excellent directions and the apartment is very easy to locate as it is directly within Uzes.
This is a great apartment and it is an excellent base for the many attractions in the local area, the back road from Uzes to the Caverne de Pont D'Arc took only 50 minutes. We will definitely return.

“Modern and clean apartment”

This 2 bedroom apartment is approx. 7 minutes walk to the centre of the delightful medieval town of Uzes. The apartment and garage are in a security block. We enjoyed spending time visiting the markets, art galleries and wandering through the narrow streets. Sitting in the Place aux Herbes square in the evenings sipping a drink and watching the passers-by was a pleasure.
The apartment, while modern and clean, had some drawbacks. The small outdoor area off the kitchen faced a gate that was frequently used by other residents and so lacked privacy if we were sitting or eating outside on the verandah. The DVD did not work and the kitchen was lacking in bowls, etc., for salads and the microwave. We had 4 towels but only linen for the double bed which would have been inconvenient if we had friends stay in the 2nd bedroom. There was a lovely garden at the rear of the property but one was strictly instructed to keep to the path - a problem if one had small children.
Luckily we had a very small car as the garage was extremely narrow. Driving instructions would have been more helpful if the map provided had arrows to the property.
