The restaurants in Uzes get very booked up in the summer so this was the only place with good reviews we could get into. The waitresses were helpful and friendly and it was a lovely spot by the sycamores in the main square. We had the fish (recommended by one of the waitresses) which was tender and came with rice and other bits and we also had the cook-your-own steak. Cook-your-own makes up a large part of the menu and basically comprises small pieces of raw meat which you can cook as you like them on a hot plate. It was quite fun and different and a talking point and the meat tasted nice. The food was fine - not the best I've had but no complaints. We headed across the square for coffee and ice-cream at the big parlour Passion.

A great location in the Place aux Herbes to cook your own on a Pierrade. We usually skip dessert and have ice cream at Passion Vanille across the square!

Our son in particular is a huge fan, resulting in our 6th visit over the last 4 years!

We usually order the things that are simplest to cook properly such as the steak and duck.

Definitely worth a visit.

we had a very pleasant dinner on the square, the menu though mainly meat oriented had some fish for our vegetarian friend. We grilled our food on hot plates and it came with sauces, veggies and salad, it was good portion and good quality products. service was friendly.

Living in Uzès, we've tried most of the restaurants, and this is our favourite in the main Place. Mostly shut in winter, due to having absolutely no indoor seating, this is a fantastic place to eat in spring and summer, lunch or dinner. It is not the cheapest, but it's excellent value - many of the other restaurants in the main square will charge similar money for inferior food and service.

The "pierrade" is basically a hot stone with a burner keeping it hot and you get a dish of raw meat you can cook to your taste on the stone. It's a wonderful, social way of eating - everyone shares the same stone and you chat as you cook and share your dishes. It comes with salad, vegetables, sauces, etc. There are more normal dishes on the menu if you don't fancy that, but I recommend it whole-heartedly! Another recommendation, if you like your steak rare, is the Côte de Bœuf - an enormous cut of beef on the bone, barbequed for you by the chef and served for two people.

You eat out on the main place, watch the world go by, the staff are pleasant and friendly, if you have kids they can play in front of you (it's pedestrianised) if they get fed up of sitting at the table. All in all, it's the perfect spot in the summer. It's also very popular, so book or be prepared for a very long wait!
