“Ideal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2012 via mobile

Located about a 5 min walk from the center, right next to the theatre, with a car park next door (not cheap, €18 for 24hra) We had a lovely room, equipped with fridge, microwave, seperate toilet and shower. Walk in shower had the option of a massive drench head, which was really nice. Room was very clean, ideal place to stay!

I stayed in room 122. This room, and those near it, shoud be avoided by any client needing internet access, because it seems to be in a Wi-Fi shadow. I complained to the hotel, who in turn complained to Orange. The woman at Orange seemed obsessed with the possibillity of my computer being at fault. After getting me to do checks, which I had done many times before, she instructed me to disable a service warning of bad connectivity. Predictably I still could not connect, at which point she told me that my computer was at fault and then the obnoxious woman slammed the phone down. Finding that something is wrong with a particular room, is very inconvenient, because changing rooms means having to pack and unpack again. Fortunately, there were plenty of vacant rooms that day. Since I was only there for 1 more day, the hotel allowed me to use a spare room, where connectivity was much better. However, I think this hotel needs to give some attention to its Wi-Fi system, and choose an ISP other than Orange. My only other complaint is the tinned sardines that are on the restaurant menu as an entrée. I expected sardines that had been prepared and seasoned by the kitchen. I did not explect a plate bearing a tin of sardines. I could buy these in the supermarket at 25% of the price, eat them in my room, and then go down to the restaurant for my 2nd course. I think some other Accor hotels have tinned sardines on the menu.

Perpignan was a good stop over on a trip from Andorra back to the Drome area of France. We booked the Novotel with a slight bit of reluctance, not having been overly impressed with their properties on other stays. What a delight to find this new, thoroughly modern and sleek addition within easy walking distance of the lovely old city area (and action centre of the city). The property is new (grounds still being completed), the design is extremely sleek and chic, rooms are not only quite large but so cleverly designed that even within the rather ample space, each square inch is thoroughly employed to provide everything the traveller needs - in each of our rooms - 2 closet areas, lovely modern rainhead showers, separated toilet area, large bedroom with a beautiful dividing curtain separating it from a spacious relaxation area with a second ultramodern sofa (bed), microwave, mini-fridge, coffee/tea station. And the bed was so comfortable we rated it 10/10. Back massage service near the elevator which seemed to do a great business! Overall hotel service could not be better - friendly, efficient. Lovely food choices in their refrigerated take out restaurant - to take to your room to cook in the microwave if you chose to eat-in. Access to the most interesting and active downtown area with great food choices if you are going out. Parking is in a public underground area in the same building as the hotel. It is a bit confusing as it is not marked as having any association with the hotel - either outside or on the interior. Parking costs were partially covered by the hotel. We will certainly route through Perpignan again simply to get a chance to enjoy that lovely city and this wonderful hotel.

Booking online was easy and quick. Reception was very helpful and friendly. All the staff in the restaurant were friendly and efficient. Food was very good. Having the swimming pool was a real bonus as we had a 6 year old with us who had had to travel in the car for a long way! Thank you.

My family and I (2 adults & 2 teenagers) stayed for 4 nights at this hotel. We had already read favourite comments about it in many reviews and so we knew what to expect. The hotel is situated on the outside of the main historical area of Perignan but is only 5 minutes walk from the centre. The room was spacious and had a very modern design. The bathroom was spacious and fabously. Many reviewers had criticized its breakfast, but we found it very adequate. It has an innovative style - formulated by the hotel nutritionist. But it was adequate for our tastes and innovative in its presentation. Overall we were very satisfied with this hotel. Also internet connection was free from our room, together with a selection of films on the TV.
