“Paradise in every way!”
Reviewed April 19, 2011

We stayed here last september, and loved it!
The place is a little hard to find (make sure you count the roundabouts correctly, and go far enough around on the last one, or you will end up in the next town - as we did, twice!).
We were also a little unsure as we drove down the road on which the hotel is located...it is a narrow track with a water filled ditch on either side, and some of the buildings you pass are a little run down. When we arrived at the gate and rang in, the (rusty high) gate creaked open, and it was a little spooky as we were just about at sunset!
But through the gate, paradise opens up before you - beautiful, idylic grounds, lovely gardens, birds chirping, ponds, trees, and then, a beautiful old and very well renovated farm house.
The lady who runs the place is lovely, sweet and helpful, and the rooms are gorgeous - both the bedroom/bathrooms, and the common dining room. There are also common areas to sit outside in the gardens. Our room was on the ground floor, and had a beautiful little terrace with bistro table and chairs, surrounded by roses.
The breakfast was delicious, particularly the croissants and the home made jam. In fact we mentioned how the marmelade was the best we had ever tasted and how much my mother would have loved it, and she brought a jar to us at the end of the meal to bring home!
Narbonne itself was okay, but there are some great places to see nearby, including an abbey, the bay, and the nearby beaches along the ocean.
This place really is an oasis, and is worth visiting in its own right - it is a relaxing garden of eden!

Room Tip: All the rooms are awesome

This is probably the single best guesthouse ever stayed in. We stayed in bedroom number 1 and it was incredible. As big and luxurious as just about anywhere we've stayed. The pool outside, the great breakfasts, the homegrown produce, the bathroom products, the huge shower, the kind hosts, the beautiful grounds - it seems endless. You could pray twice as much as this and be nowhere near as good. Narbonne isn't the most exciting place in the world, but we basically just left Domaine St. Domingue to eat and nothing else. Can't recommend it enough!

This was such a great surprise, we booked it at the last minute as we were traveling from Provence to Spain and had 2 spare nights. It ended up being my favourite B&B / hotel in France (we stayed at 10 different places) and was the best value. The property is stunning and decorated so beautifully. The owners Anne and Olivier were the perfect hosts, so generous with their time. The breakfast was amazing... fresh fruit salad, fresh eggs from the property hens, a great assortment of breads and jams, freshly squeezed juice... just beautiful (and included the the price). We were also able to borrow their brand new bikes and ride into the near by town and country side. This would be a great spot for summer as it has an amazing garden and swimming pool. Narbonne was also a nice surprise, we had two great meals there and the town is very pretty. I cant wait to return and only wished i had found it earlier.
