“Excellent small city hotel”

We loved this hotel, and wished we could have stayed longer. Spacious room was very comfortable and the street was quiet so we could sit on the balcony. Easy walk from station with cases, and interesting neighbourhood shops on the doorstep. The owners were friendly and helpful.

Hotel des Tuileries has a great location just outside of the historic center and close to the Arena. This made it easy to walk to all the sights and come back to the hotel during the day for a rest.

The owners are English and very helpful. This is a very typical European hotel with smallish rooms but it has everything you need. We had a room with a balcony and although the balcony looks out over a commercial street so there is no "view", it was nice to sit out there and relax. There was a live bank playing at a local bar and I was worried about not being able to sleep, but the windows are great and blocked all the street noise.

The hotel has a breakfast room where for 8 euro you can have a buffet of various croissants and toast, plus cereal and yoghurt, etc. We ordered regular coffee and got a pitcher of hot milk and a pitcher of coffee which the owner gladly refilled. This was a big deal to my husband who enjoys a big cup of coffee in the morning and the European style is a small espresso.

In the breakfast room you can also get a beer, wine or soft drinks to drink there in the evening or take up to your room. There is also a great bakery just across the street for baked treats and a tiny convenience store to the left.

The garage is down the street but it is fully enclosed so the cars are safe and off the narrow street.

WiFi was free with the room but only one device at a time and it tended to time out periodically. But it would only be a problem if you were planning to work for hours.

The hotel was in the midst of a remodeling and you could see work in progress but it was not an issue in our room or any of the public spaces.

We would highly recommend this hotel, especially for the friendly owners and the great location.

Stayed here for 3 nights in late April. Although only 2 stars, the hotel provided everything that we needed. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and it was lovely to have a small balcony to step out on, the continental breakfast was very good (unlimited coffee!), the owners (English) were friendly and helpful. The hotel is an excellent base for Nimes itself and being fairly close to the railway station proved to be an excellent location for us exploring further afield, incl Montpellier and Carcassone.

This was our one disappointing hotel during our week's driving tour in the South of France. The location is very good - just 10 minutes walk to all the main sights as well as the station - but that was about all that really stood out. The rooms are clean, but the decor and furniture are very old. The balcony was nice, but the road below has a lot of motos and scooters going up and down so it can be quite noisy. The rooms could also be quite dark because the windows are small and there are only little lamps with low wattage bulbs for light (no central lighting etc). You have to ask for a plug for the bath at reception because they said that as it's a small hotel with limited hot water they can't always guarantee to have enough hot water for everyone. The wifi in the room was very good. It was perfectly adequate for the price and the fact that we only wanted it for one night, but I probably wouldn't want to stay here for a longer trip.

Stayed here in April, 2013 for two nights with another couple from the States. The small hotel (2 stars) was on a quiet street with two sets of windows between the room (room 403) and the street. Made for a very quiet and comfortable sleep. Beds were comfy. We were on the first floor without a terrace that juts out but it was a "built in" terrace which is just as nice and a bit cheaper (76 euros per night). Parking was close by in a garage, had breakfast only one day and it was very good, worth the 8 euros. Consisted of juice, all the tea/coffee you wanted, good cereals, toast, fruit, and pastries, etc. Thought we did not partake, they also sell wine, beer and soft drinks which you can drink there or take up to your room. Hotel does have an elevator and stairs for those of us who don't like elevators. The British owners were always available and very helpful, the town of Nimes is amazing with Roman ruins in town, boulevards, gardens and fountains everywhere. We have been coming to France for years and don't know how we have missed this comfortable, easy-going and uncrowded town. Be sure to go out at night to see the monuments and fountains lit.

I don't have any bad things to say about this hotel - great and helpful staff, lovely rooms, very affordable prices, excellent location and close to the train station. The area is quite so will get a great night's sleep even if your room faces the street. What more could you want? We didn't have the breakfast (it is 8€ extra) so I cannot comment on it.

If you are looking for a pleasant hotel to stay overnight in Nimes, this is the place for you.

Excellent location in the centre of Nimes within easy walking distance of all attractions and most decent restaurants, English couple who own the hotel were flexible, charming and could not have been more helpful in offering advice and directions to local bars, (something very satisfying sitting in a bar in France watching England beat France at Rugby) restaurants and the wonderful places of interest in Nimes. A very basic yet comfortable hotel with secure parking that offers excellent value for B&B. Be aware that GPS navigation systems get confused finding this hotel but a bit of common sense overcomes this minor technical glich, Would definitely stay here if in Nimes again and would recommend anyone else passing through and wanting a bed for the night to do the same,
