We stayed in October for four nights, with garage for two nights before returning our rental car. This hotel was a great place at a very fair price. Even at high season price I think it was the best value of this trip. The room (larger with balcony) was large, the balcony good for being outside instead of sealed up in a closed room and all was in a good state. Location is great and restaurants and the wonderful old town and sites (and sights) of Nimes all within an easy walk. The street in front was quiet at night and noise was not a problem at all. We wheeled our bags to the station in an easy 15 minute walk on departure day.
The hosts, Karen and Andrew, were exceptional and are a big factor in distinguishing this property. Andrew even moved the car around in the admitedly tight garage and took care of backing it out into the street. Free internet access was provided to check email and hi fi seemed to be working everywhere.
Nimes is a wonderful town of Roman ruins a great old town and plazas. In all this was a great value and place to stay. I would not think of staying elsewhere and missing the friendly athomsphere even if I wanted to spend more money.

Room Tip: Go for the larger rooms. The little balcony is nice and the extra room, with a seperate toilet room...

The hotel is 2-3 blocks from the train station and a short walk to the fantastic Roman arena - our priority in visiting Nimes. We were very pleased with Hotel des Tuileries. The owners are friendly and helpful, the room larger than average and the bathroom of a good-size and very clean. I loved the balcony where I could check out the scene below. The hotel has an elevator and a pleasant breakfast room where we ate a satisfying continental breakfast (wonderful, unlimited coffee) on one of the two mornings we were there. There is a great restaurant- La Palette Gourmande - right across the street. The owner/host is warm and welcomingl and the food some of the best we had during our two and a half weeks in France. There are plenty of restaurants and bakeries in the area as well as a laundromat. The old town of Nimes is wonderful to stroll through and the hotel is just down one of the side streets. My husband and I would happily stay here again.

We had just one night in Nimes but would have been very happy to have stayed longer. This hotel was a short walk from the station and also handy to the central part of the town which is very interesting and historic. The room was comfortable and met all our needs. We had a balcony so we enjoyed being able to watch the activity on the street below. The location was on a quiet street but there were many places nearby either to buy food or to eat out. We thought the breakfast provided was very good value. The hosts were charming and helpful, the information provided in their booklet was excellent. We loved our stay and if ever we are in the area again we will definitely return.

Ideal location (close to tourist sights and train station); well-equipped room with comfortable bed and fridge; thoughtfully-organized bathroom with great shower and nice towels; owners very friendly and helpful, and a mine of information; nice breakfast with unlimited excellent coffee. Perfect for us.

I can only repeat what others have said. Superbly situated five minutes from the station and five minutes from the Arena and thence to the old town. The people were helpful and friendly, the room was clean and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the quiet street, where we caught the last of the October sun before hitting the TGV back north. There's a good restaurant right across the road, and others in the vicinity. Tea/coffee in the rooms would be nice, but there is a bar downstairs. It was a pleasure to stay here - why stay anywhere else?

I stayed here for three nights while visiting the sights of Nimes. My room needed a bit of refurbishment, but was clean and the bathroom was modern. The room had a little balcony with a table and chairs. There is secured, indoor parking down the block, a real plus in the old city full of narrow streets. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. The hotel is a short walk from the Arena and other sights. There are restaurants, bakeries and a laundromat nearby. It is a comfortable place to stay in Nimes

A friendly hotel in a superb location. Welcoming, young receptionist keen to offer advice re attractions and places to eat. Secure car parking located further along the same street. This hotel 'does exactly what it says on the tin'. Close to all the attractions and in a safe neighbourhood for walking. Enjoyed Nimes and will stay again at this hotel if visiting the area.
