We came across this brasserie by chance. We were planning to have lunch in Uzès, but my morning appointment had run very late and as it was already 12.10 we decided to look for a local restaurant around Avenue Jean-Jaurès
What a lucky find! It's only been open a few weeks, since December 2012, but is clearly already well known as it was about one third full, with several tables reserved. It was completely full by 12.45. There are a lot of offices nearby and the clientèle contributed to the purposeful yet relaxed atmosphere.
The decor is light modern and stylish with very comfortable club chairs . The experienced female staff are charming, warm and welcoming and it was great to see their eyes constantly scanning to check whether customers needed anything. There were two waitresses and the restaurant was full, but service was very attentive.
We were in a rush, so we did not have time to study the menu. We quickly ordered a steak for him and boeuf bourgignon for me. Both were excellent, served with wedge shaped oven cooked potatoes and fresh vegetable garnish. The food was very fresh and appetising with quality ingredients. The house wine was pleasant, but they have a good wine list.
My dish happened to be one of the choices of the menu du jour and cost €9. There were other interesting options at that price too! Two courses cost €12.50 and three cost €15, very good value for the quality. His à la carte steak was €13. There are lighter options too.
We're really looking forward to the next visit when we have time to study the menu properly. The location is away from the main shopping area, but there is plenty of parking nearby. The food market in the boulevard outside on Friday morning was most attractive. Their website is clearly new and not yet finished.
