“Lunch to remember!”
Reviewed July 9, 2014

We totally enjoyed our lunch at Le Jardin des Sens. The restaurant is located 15 minutes walk from from the 'old city' & outside doesn't look much. However the glass cube dining room with gardens all around is tranquil. The staff are very professional & the feel of the place is a little bit traditional. The 49euro lunch menu is outstanding value, the amuse bouche is amazing, all kinds tastes, all delicious, then we chose the veal, bean & potato salad, very well balanced, mains were fish & duck, again perfectly balanced & beautifully presented, the dessert of the day was a peach tart. The pre desserts were mind blowing, a little platter of taste sensations!!! The lunch menu includes a glass of wine and if you would like another it is available at a reasonable 9euro. We started lunch with a glass of the house champagne which was only 12euro a glass. The espresso cafe at 8euro was expensive! If you are planning on going for lunch it is not available everyday so plan ahead & make a booking.. Highly recommended.

“Worth a Night Stop.”
Reviewed July 4, 2014

We booked a double room with the "du terroir' menu and breakfast. A very warm welcome on arrival from all the very helpful staff. The room was excellent. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. Quiet and good air-conditioning. There were ample and interesting " nibbles" with aperitifs and then on to supper. A generous 'amuse buche' would have done as the first course. The real starter was courgette flowers stuffed with a langoustine souffle and langoustines. A white fish served with rich sauce and smooth red wine was next, followed by sort of "Starter" pudding followed by the real thing which was three small different cherry recipes, cherries being in season. All well served and great to eat. The wine that went with the meal were all 'localish' but very good. In all a great meal. Very good bread was served with the meal.

Breakfast was equally as good but we were still quite full from the night before.

The staff suggested we left the car in their secure car park and take a little walk around Montpelier before we left. It is a 10 minute walk to the old part which is pedestrianised and worth the effort.

The stay was excellent value, will stop again.

“Exquisite”
Reviewed July 3, 2014

Food this good should be illegal.

Easily the best meal we've had in Montpellier, and at 49 euros each for the degustation "du terroir" (including matching wines but excluding apertifs) excellent value. Note: this price I believe only applies mid-week; it's a lot more on weekends.

The menu was a crowd pleaser; put together with foodies in mind but nothing too left of centre to be offputting.

The dessert in particular was the standout; a composition of cherry creations accompanied by mascarpone sorbet. Outstanding.

In addition, the service was faultless. Always attentive, but never overbearing.

Loved it all and would recommend it to anyone who loves good food.

“Go!”
Reviewed June 16, 2014

Fantastic prix fixe 3 course weekday lunch (plus more: amuse bouche 2x). Very professional and hospitable staff, beautiful presentation, and delicious. Romantic setting. A great value at 49 euros given the care and quality of the meal. I was lucky to be able to walk in, and would definitely go again.

“A sensational delight”
Reviewed June 1, 2014

Lunch - and the morsels of loveliness just kept appearing - from the moment we entered this wonderful place to our departure 2 hours later our senses kept on being thrilled - from the wonderful food, the attentive service, the light on the pool, the glow of the garden in the mid day sunshine to the affordability of the whole experience it was a joy.

As the cab whisked us away after lunch it was a return to the mundane!!
