A truly beautiful place- the castle is fab with some great history behind it, the owners are happy to come over and have a chat with you and are charming. The restaurant is modern and yet inkeeping with the decadence of the castle...theres a resaaurant there too in a really nice sun spot to sit in after a tour where you can also grab a glass of their own wine ad have some nice food-not too expensive at all. Wine tasting definitely not to be missed - im a beginner and found it pretty easy and interesting- plus they dont make you spit out the wine everytime;-)

Château de Flaugergues is really worth of visiting, I recommend it to everybody who's travelling to Montpellier! The castle and the gardens are really beautiful, and the guided tour is interesting as the castle has a lot of history. The people working there are extremely friendly!! You don't have to speak french to be able to participate to the visit. The castle is also famous for its wines, which visiters are able to taste. If you are interested in tasting really good wines of the region, you should definitely go to Château de Flaugergues! The location of the site is also good, close to the city center of Montpellier.

Today we (students) organized a forum in this beautiful domain in Montpellier. We can do more than greet the De Colbert Family who for three months now is helping us in this project. They hosted us in their gardens, make us taste their delicious wines, share with us their own experience as wine makers. I enjoyed to be part of this project. I hope everybody looking for tourism; wines, beautiful historical place, or just a piece of the French culture could stop by the Chateau de Flaugergues and meet Madeleine in the Caveau and the whole family there.
Thanks for everything.

We were there in the summer of 2006 and toured the chateaux and attended a wine tasting. The owner of the chateau was a bit eccentric, and gave an interesting tour of the beautiful historic house.
The wine tasting was a bit too structured, however, in that groups of about 40 people were herded into a tasting room where we sat in rows of folding chairs and listened to a speech that was too long, before being offered tiny sips of the wine.
