“Delicious Burger, wonderful ambiance”

Great quality burger, many choices, nicely decorated. Looks like family business in the old city. Walking in there is very charming. I would strongly recommend it.

“Excellent burgers, brilliant service and nice ambience”
Reviewed August 30, 2014

We are burger freaks - we've eaten our way round the gastro-burger revolution in London and always scope out the top rated burgers when traveling. And Gasoline is the best we've had, no debate. I had L'Auvergnan (mild blue cheese, house sauce, all the trimmings) and my boyfriend had the bacon burger (cheddar, bacon, trimmings). Both huge (which is by no means the key part for us but worth noting) with the bun an excellent balance between lightly crisp exterior and soft interior. Brioche is all the rage in UK burger joints and I'd guess this was a brioche bun, but soft and tender rather than squishy and greasy like it can be sometimes, and held together excellently. The meat (150gm) was perfect - super juicy, deep brown and almost caramelised outside and a nice pink inside. And tasted amazing. Everything tasted amazing! - the flavours all balanced so well and the meal was rich and savoury but we didn't feel over full or sickened afterwards (we rarely have starters or dessert so can't comment other than that they looked good). The fries were good and crispy and the mayo that came with was really good. Side salad and garlic-sautéed beans decent portions and tasty. (All of this included with the burger, which we thought was very reasonably priced).
The service in general really added to our evening; warm welcome, ongoing jokes re our awful French and his (probably much better in reality) English. The byplay trading off ketchup/mustard bottles from another table was hilarious, as was the offer of an iPad 'if we need to translate anything', and the 'vodka with fish eyes' was a nice touch.
We had a lovely evening and left feeling thoroughly happy; can't recommend enough!

“Amazing!”

Super tasty maxi hamburgers, all with distinctive special flavours. Located in a quiet corner, 200 metres away from the messy night city centre.
Impeccable service, fair price.
Highly recommended restaurant!

“Excellent and unpretentious burger restaurant”
Reviewed July 17, 2014

If there is such a thing as "burger haut cuisine" this must be it. We all had variants of the "Classic" burger (with or without bacon) - which essentially is made from quality beef and tasty artisan buns. The fries were cooked in olive oil and there were a couple of other delicate sides like a small glass of what appeared to be home-made gazpacho. The service was relaxed but attentive and the overall atmosphere was very nice.
