The beauftiful City of Montpellier is overflowing with hosteries and can therefore be very difficult to negotiate with regard to where best to eat lunch, have a coffee, drink a beer or eat 'diner'
The clement weather and large amount of heated and partially covered outdoor seating always looks appealing but further investigation down the side streets always pays off.
This restaurant is a locals place and tucked away in some cellars, we came across it after considering all the 'menu formules' elsewhere and were wandering around the back streets. Do expect, good food, good service, excellent atmosphere and a reasonable price, (they even give you a choice of Red White or Pink wine by the bottle, then take it away and measure what you have drunk and charge accordingly!) Don't expect quiet, roomy or any English/English translation. we were lucky, arriving at 7. 30 -7. 45 and getting a small table for two in the main cellar. I would advise booking for a weekend night
