Description: The unique menu remained unchanged since the beginning. This formula is a decked slice of sirloin of 170 grams accompanied by french fries and its famous sauce. His son Henry, opened a restaurant in Toulouse in 1962, in Bordeaux in 1966, in Nantes in 1980, in Montpellier in 1990, and finally, in Lyon in 1999. These restaurants are characterized by scots and black mural, a lemon yellow topping and hostesses dressed with yellow apron and black blouse. The exterior is beautified by yellow and black blinds vertical stripes for the best effect.

“'Steak frites - classique'”
Reviewed August 25, 2012

This serves only one meal but does it very well. This (not Frog's legs!) is the national dish, and they really know how to cook both steak and pommes frites. Good regional wine at reasonable price. Why can't we find this in England?

“Nice piece of meat”
Reviewed July 10, 2012

A nice piece of meat, cooked just as you wish and cut in very fine pieces that will melt in your mouth.
Very pleasant service.
A very good deal.

“Does what it says”
Reviewed June 4, 2012

Two of us visited on a Friday evening in July 2011. The waitress was a bit abrupt, but I don't think we really understood the menu (no choice starter/main).
The starter (walnut salad) didn't really appeal but the main course was very good.
I am considering taking my son and daughter there this year (lots of uneaten walnuts) but I think they will be impressed with the steak.
Word of warning- check the chairs before sitting on them- I got some oily stuff (sauce?) on my trousers and didn't discover until the next morning. It still hasn't come out.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed January 9, 2012

I believe this restaurant is popular all over France and has several franchises. I have only visited the one in Montpellier and have to agree that it is very good. The menu is fixed- a salad to start, then steak and chips, but it has its own person twist, with its special sauce. The chips are eat as much as you want, as is the bread and you are given a platter with more steak on it in addition to what is first put on your plate. I would recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the opening time, as there is always a huge queue outside, proving how popular it is. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
