A lovely small hotel, well located with attentive staff and a pleasant pool and decked area. The breakfasts are good, and our request for a room with a view was fulfilled. I will definitely be returning, but hope that the gym equipment will have been renewed/expanded

We spent three days at Hotel Madeloc. Collioure was wonderful, even though it was full of August crowds.
The hotel is stylish and relaxed, very clean and the staff were all very helpful, offering to carry our cases etc. Breakfast staff even remembered our room number without asking. The air conditioning was bliss after staying for a week in hot bedrooms elsewhere. I had partly chosen the hotel because (as well as location, air conditioning, parking and reviews) it had a pool. We used this less than we had anticipated but it was spotless and refreshing.
On arrival I asked for an alternative room to the one offered (17) which is at the very top at the back, rather dark and the 'terrace' is a bit like a small urban deck more suited to storage. The staff were totally relaxed about my query, although they pointed out that 17 was very quiet and near the pool. The hotel was fully booked but we were offered room 2 as a swap. Room 2 is one of the front rooms (I think they are 1-6) with small balconies and a view of rooftops etc. It was sunny and absolutely fine. The rooms to aim for would be probably ? 7 which has a side terrace or others with very large terraces indeed.
Breakfast is included in the price at the most peak times in August and was great - eggs, freshly squeezed juice, all the usual continental stuff and masses of coffee or tea and could be taken outside or in.
Had our room been a little more special with a terrace this score would be a 5 not a 4, I dithered about a 5 nonetheless. I think the hotel is well worth 3 stars.

We stayed here for 6 days hoping for complete relaxation after a stressful few months, and relaxation is what we certainly got! The hotel is about 10 minutes, no more, amble out of the centre of the town in a nice residential area, which means that it is quiet. (A bonus is that it's only 5 minutes from the station, so we didn't need a taxi, but we never heard the noise of any trains). Our room had a private terrace where we could sit out, and the hotel was exceptionally clean. They have a system whereby you decide if you need the towels or bedding changed, which is so sensible. Who needs clean towels every day?! They allow each guest a large coloured towel each for 'pool' use, rather than taking the white room towels, and turned a blind eye to them also being taken to the beach - they simply checked them back in again when we left. The staff were very helpful and friendly and our chambermaid was particularly super. However, the biggest bonus of this hotel is the fact that it has space for an absolutely stunning very clean (and warm) pool, with a decked area for sunbeds and parasols. The hotel is on three floors and 'goes up' the terraced hillside. The pool and sun lounger terrace is high up, level with the hotel roof, so the views are great and the area gets whatever breeze there might be, welcome on a really hot day. There is also a jacuzzi (3 euros per half hour) and fitness room with various items of keep fit equipment (free). We really enjoyed our stay and will almost certainly return in the future.

In a country full of traditional French hotels, it was nice to find one that was refreshingly different. Not that the traditional ones are bad (!), just that sometimes you want the crisp, contemporary interior, the modern facilities, the clean look to the bedroom, etc. that a modern style hotel offers. And Hotel Madeloc is just that.

It's also tucked in a nice quiet backstreet of Collioure so when you've had enough of the bars at 1am you can go back to the hotel and hit the sack in peace!

All in all a great hotel with a lot of facilities. Only thing missing is a proper bar area but frankly there are so many bars in the town that you don't really need it.

Our room was fine. It was well air conditioned, had good plumbing, and was well situated to the port(a five minute walk). Parking is 8 euros/night. We did not take breakfast, opting to walk into the village and buy a fresh pastry and a cafe creme. My only concern was that, in making the reservation, the front desk staff was overly concerned(dare I say paranoid) about securing a credit card number.

We checked in yesterday for 1 night and our room was clean and very comfortable. We have a porch with table, chairs and umbrella. The walk to town is about 5 minutes. Collioure is a beautiful place and I would love to come back someday. Layla at the hotel is very pleasant and helpful, as well as everyone else at the hotel we have had the chance to talk with. Really enjoyed our stay.

Well situated Hotel for the short walk to the beautiful town of Collioure. We stayed in one of the larger rooms on the top floor, (note Hotel does not have a lift) and struggled a little with a buggy and baby. Room was adequate although slightly more space for a small table would have been an advantage; there was a terrace area which was pleasant. Pool area has superb views and for a sure a big plus for this Hotel. We took breakfast which was fine, Euros11.00 per person was fair. Additional plus is the free wi-fi offered however note there are separate charges for parking and provision of a cot per night which although clearly advised in advance appear to be simple profiteering. In general a reasonable Hotel offering.
