“Great location. Great front desk staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2013 via mobile

We checked in to the Hotel-Restaurant les Templiers on a beautiful sunny day in April which meant that the town of Collioure was overrun with tourists. After circling around many times, we finally found an opening in the parking lot above the post office.
We finally arrived at LesTempliers looking haggard and exhausted. The staff was excellent to us, even giving us an upgraded room for no extra charge. The room and bathroom were very basic but we had two Juliet balconies overlooking the acton and the harbor. And we were very happy.
The front desk staff continued to be extremely accommodating. One young man even refused a tip for helping to move our bags.
We would recommend this hotel.

If you want something not run of the mill - this is it. I was on my own and it was fine - the staff were adorable - infact everybody there was friendly and helpful and welcoming. I was very out of season but the merry bar which is open from breakfast till after the football closes is always full of locals. I had a pretty room over looked the castle and the commandos doing their excerices - all the rooms are done up slightly differently and the whole place is stuffed full of paintings - a lot of them very good. Breakfast was delicious -I didnt mean to but I kept finishing it. Why are croissants and baguettes so much better in France? And in the evening I would have a glass of the local vin doux - The restaurant serves good food as well. Its in a perfect position if swimming and sunbathing are not the most important things to do. Collioure is a gem of a place - no wonder Matisse and Derain l oved it as the light is incredible.

Room Tip: You are either on the castle side and waterside with a lovely view but it might be nosiy over the ba...

A lovely hotel absolutley packed with paintings, in the bar, in the corridors, if slightly less in the rooms. Perfect french breakfast with good, attentive service. Bar packed at night with "local" artists of all nationalities. Fine restaurant. All and all a great experience for the amateur artfreak, the comfortable bohemian and the francofile.

The hotel is rather difficult to find, and as it is in a pedestrian area you have to carry your bags quite a distance, but once you are there you'll find a quirky hotel with really comfortable rooms. We had a frontage room which advertises a view over the chateau and the port, byt the trees had grown in front of the hotel somewhat restricting the view. Nevertheless, our room had a small balcony that enabled a sideways view. The staff were very helpful, showing us a couple of rooms for our selection, and the double chosen was attractive, reasonably large, and had all necessay fittings and equipment. The "frontage" are over the restaurant, and as expected the night life continued into the early hours, but as the room is air conditioned we could close the window and the street noise (and the never ending quacking of the "laughing" duck) was reduced to an acceptable level

The location of the hotel is superb, within a stones throw of the beach, where we preferred to take breakfast at one of the many beachside restaurants/cafes.

We pre booked a night here traveling from Spain to the South of France. What a busy place! We couldn't get near the hotel but did manage a car park up near the railway station which was a ten minute walk. We paid for four hours, then it is free overnight till 8am. Hotel is conveniently located near all the lovely shops, beach and castle. We found the receptionists very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean, good air conditioning. Bathroom shower needed attention, and fell apart first time used. Bed was comfy, and we had paid for a view of port and castle. We had a part view of port which you could see from the very small terrace, but we couldnt see the castle as trees outside window. Terrace standing room only no room for a chair. Good value for money in this busy pretty seaside town.

My friend and I had a reseservation for one night, but when we arrived at the hotel we changed all our plans and decided to stay for the rest of our vacation in France. It is fantastic in every way: right in the old town, close to the beach and some rooms overlooking harbour and castle. Extremely kind and helpful staff and the rooms are clean and comfortable with a silent air conditioning which you need for hit summer nights! Ok, parking is not provided, but its worth the walk. I will definitely come back!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with view ocer harbour if you dont mind the buzz from the restaurants, otherwise ask...

A great hotel with all the paintings, and some marvellous receptionists. Also some really awful snob waiters and an insane perceptions of how the Internet works. They say that they have free internet, but you have to go either to the hotel reception or to the bar and get tickets with codes and passwords. Tickets on max two hours at the time. I have often been given tickets on just one hour when I've asked for two - and I speak fluent French.

Outside you don't know what's restaurant and what's bar tables. If you approach a waiter from the restaurant when you just want something to drink, you will be told that someone from the bar will be with you shortly. You will sit there and wait for half an hour and wonder if you are invisible. Then you will go inside to the bar and order something at the counter, and your glass will have very little in it, and it will be expensive. You will still feel that the surroundings are so amazing - I have no words for explaining how great the art is - that it's almost worth the hassle.

The rooms are a bit rough, but OK. Clean enough. AC dated, but works! A must in Collioure in summer. The restaurant is average to average minus. When I live in Collioure I never go there.

I asked them once why they have such a stupid system for the internet when they claim to have free Wi-Fi for everyone. "Can you imagine, Madame, how it would be if our internet was completely open? We would only have internet guests here!" - Uhhh? Café Sola half a minute away has open, good, free Internet without the stupid code ticket system. Don't eat lunch or dinner at Sola. But do go there and have breakfast and drinks and enjoy nice waiters, instead of the snobs at Templiers.
