A great hotel with all the paintings, and some marvellous receptionists. Also some really awful snob waiters and an insane perceptions of how the Internet works. They say that they have free internet, but you have to go either to the hotel reception or to the bar and get tickets with codes and passwords. Tickets on max two hours at the time. I have often been given tickets on just one hour when I've asked for two - and I speak fluent French.

Outside you don't know what's restaurant and what's bar tables. If you approach a waiter from the restaurant when you just want something to drink, you will be told that someone from the bar will be with you shortly. You will sit there and wait for half an hour and wonder if you are invisible. Then you will go inside to the bar and order something at the counter, and your glass will have very little in it, and it will be expensive. You will still feel that the surroundings are so amazing - I have no words for explaining how great the art is - that it's almost worth the hassle.

The rooms are a bit rough, but OK. Clean enough. AC dated, but works! A must in Collioure in summer. The restaurant is average to average minus. When I live in Collioure I never go there.

I asked them once why they have such a stupid system for the internet when they claim to have free Wi-Fi for everyone. "Can you imagine, Madame, how it would be if our internet was completely open? We would only have internet guests here!" - Uhhh? Café Sola half a minute away has open, good, free Internet without the stupid code ticket system. Don't eat lunch or dinner at Sola. But do go there and have breakfast and drinks and enjoy nice waiters, instead of the snobs at Templiers.

Could not have been more surprised had often had a drink or two in the lively bar whose walls are covered in outstanding art but I did not expect the hotel to be similarly decorated. It is akin to staying in a beautiful impressionist Art Gallery. Beds and amenities comfortable with a definite Catalan feel and the staff superbly helpful...... The view from our room overlooking the canal to the bay with its imposing century old Palace was breathtaking. I booked through Trip Advisor and it could not have been easier. Our room was ready for us when we arrived at midday!

I have seen this Hotel on previous visits and had always looked forward to staying here. I was not disappointed. Although two star, the Hotel is of a good standard. Add to that the restaurant, lively bar and it's location I can recommend it to any couple. I e-mailed the Hotel prior to our visit to ask for a room at the front of the Hotel looking out on the castle and this was fulfilled.
On the one evening that we wanted an early night, when the balcony door was closed it kept out the noise from the street. Air con' worked brilliantly. The friendly staff could never do enough.
All in all, a great location for a couple looking to be in the heart of the town. Also Collioure is beautiful.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front of the Hotel.

All the walls of this typical hotel are covered with paintings ans drawings from all the artists who came there to sleep or eat during the 50 last years. Well not the Picasso's and most wellknown's ones (in a safer place), of course, but a large palette of different and pleasant styles. On the other way, Les Templiers is a middle class hotel, very central place in Collioure, nice view on the little harbour. The restaurant is good too, with a terrasse outside on a very busy street. So you can hear some noise from your room, if you let the window open at night...

Room Tip: Take the rooms on the front street, even if it's noisier.

We came to Collioure without a place to stay and found this place to be absolutely perfect. Prime location on the waterfront, in front of a castle and in the center of town. A great place to stay for anyone travelling to this great quiet little town.

This is by far one of the most interesting hotels I've ever stayed at. Situated in a town not far from the Spanish border, the hotel was used as a refuge to those fleeing war in Spain. Those guests who could not afford to pay for a night at the hotel were required to paint or draw something in return. Literally every inch of wall in the hallways and restaurant are covered with paitnings and drawings, and even contain some orignal Picasso's.

The hotel is quaint and unassuming. It's central location in Collioure remains somewhat subdued despite the amount of people passing by, and there isn't a whole lot of noise at night. I especially enjoyed sipping Calvados while reading my book in the bar. Enjoyed every minute of my stay.

Collioure is the perfect place for a couple who enjoy beauty: the scenery, food, the many artists studios and the fabulous blues of the water and sky. Les Templiers was perfect for us: great location, shabby in places but 'characterfully' so - and it has so many original artworks to admire. At the heart of everything and I just wish we could have stayed longer: we will return!
