We had a lovely 8 nights in Paradis des Papillons.
The Gite was very well presented - even down to a very welcome bottle of wine and some bread/eggs.
Will certainly stay here again if in this part of France
Park your car on the hard standing, enter through the little wooden gate into the rose garden, the scent will greet you and butterflies will rise up from the roses in a way to say welcome every time you came home, cross the sun deck with seating and loungers and plenty of shade if you need it, up some wide steps to the patio aria of this one story, two bedroom modern Gite, large lounge and dinning area with a nicely appointed kitchen. Paradis des Papillions is in a small hamlet of about fifty people. called "Ferran" situated on a small rise over looking a very wide valley. You can see vineyards, corn fields, and sunflowers, like butter on croissants, in the distant can be made out the Cathare's strong hold of Montsegur high in the foot hills, beyond that you see the jagged peaks of the Pyrenees mountains, to the left is the city of Carcassonne and the black mountains. Your adventure starts here.
Spacious modern gite, light and airy, good kitchen and great garden catching the sun until well into the evening, just right for enjoying a glass of wine and a BBQ. The welcome pack included a great bottle of wine, sorry Sue and Andy looks like I've committed you to that now! Just 20 minutes or so from the airport, so if your looking for a relaxing time you will enjoy Paradis des Papillons.
Andy and his wife Sue have created the perfect, welcoming gite experience, on the edge of the tiny village of Ferran. An ideal accommodation for two couples, or less, two extremely comfortable bedrooms each with own bathroom, one bedroom opening on to one of two terraces over looking the private peaceful rose scented garden. There are lovely seating/sunbathing areas and tables for eating meals outside, with both sun traps or shade, provided by the beautiful trees. The gentle rytham of the day marked by the lovely sound of the local church bell. The gite itself with it's spacious living room and kitchen, provides everything, to the last detail, of what anyone could wish for, to make their stay a wonderful base for experiencing or exploring the delights of the Aude and nearby regions
This gite has all the attractions of rural living - tranquility, peace and stunning countryside - without the drawbacks. Sue and Andy, the owners, have renovated it to an extremely high standard and specification: the beds are comfortable, the showers are great and the kitchen is very well-equipped. We loved parking the car and walking up the path between the beds of roses!
Second visit & definitely will be returning ☺️Fabulous accommodation & setting☺️☺️Nothing too much trouble with all your creature comforts at hand☺️
