We dined with our UK and French family, some of whom live on Carcassonne. We are getting to know La Cite well, it doesn't need any recommendation from me, it is a fabulous place to visit.
The Comte Roger in within a minute or two walk from the Hotel La Cite. Like most premises inside walled city, it is compact with a little terrace which I am sure would be very pleasant on a warm summers evening.
We chose from the fixe prix menu, which had a adequate selection, and in the main well presented and enjoyable to eat. My wife's main course fish was tasty, but overcooked, although our daughter said it was one of the nicest restaurant meals she has had recently in France.
The wine list was fairly limited, but did have a good choice of local wines, from which we were able to select a few nice bottles due to our french family local knowledge.
A nice and modern atmosphere, all though some of the waiting staff were a bit surly, but I guess it must be hard work in a restaurant in such a tourist hot spot.
For those that know La Cite, if you are driving, and eating dinner, park in the car park which the Hotel La Cite uses which is a short but interesting walk around the back of the basilica but very near to the restaurant
