“Starstruck”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

A party of 4 of us had the set menu for lunch here recently. I would say the food was good not great but incredibly reasonable, €35 with a glass of wine. The amuse bouche were beautifully presented. I was not keen on two of them. The starter was delicious - light and tasty. The main a slow cooked veal hock, moist and tender was let down by overcooked root vegetables and potatoes (they had been cooked for hours in the veal stock and had that institutionalised boiled veg taste). The dessert was the icing on the cake - a really excellent pear crumble. Simple done well in my book is worth two stars alone. Petit fours beautifully presented and coffee served in very funky cups. Service very efficient and pleasant. Would love to go back and eat in the evening.

“Probably one of the best meals eve”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

Have just returned from Le Parc Franck Putelat having had what must have been one of the best meals ever (honest)! I'd read the Tripadvisor reviews of the top ten restaurants in Carcassonne and decided, based on the collective wisdom, that this was a restaurant worth visiting. You Guys, weren't wrong...... Was there for dinner by myself (a semi business trip and took the opportunity to pamper myself) and choose an inclusive menu with the accompanying selection of wines. This feet of serendipity really payed off as the flow of the dishes was complimented by wines that enhanced the different elements. I know that this is common in France but I do wish that UK restaurants would follow copy? Whilst not cheap, everything - from the welcome to the 'takeaway' homemade biscuits as you paid your bill - was topnotch! As a regular visitor to France I know that good food is not especially the exception but this place does deserve its justly gained accolades.

“Feast for Royalty”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

We wanted one night of a culinary splurge on our recent trip to France and Italy. After much research, we decided to visit Le Parc. Our dinner was superb! Not being Michelin starred regulars, we were a bit overwhelmed by the menu and let our server and sommelier make recommendations. We didn't have one of the preset menus, the server came up with a different combination of specialties for us and the sommelier paired them with amazing wines. Every course was a feast for the eyes in addition to the taste buds. The service was beyond belief! Our every need and desire was attended. Pairing this with a stay at Hotel de la Cite, we felt like we truly were royalty residing in the castle of Carcassonne. This dinner was a feast for a king...and we were glad to play the part.

“Beautiful theater of Food”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

For a girls birthday dinner while on holiday in France, we decided to treat ourselves to a dinner in Le Parc. It's not cheap - the cheapest menu is €60 per person not including wine (€29 for matching wine) - but it's worth it. We went for the Emotion Menu - but we had a non-meat eater with us so they adapted the menu to take care of her. Saying that, they didn't just adapt the menu, they created dishes for her that were as good as the ones that us carnivores were eating. The food was divine, the place setting were beautiful (who would have thought of a chain mail coaster!) and the staff were attentive without being intrusive.
I've only given 4 stars to the restaurant as when we didn't take the aperitif that was offered, we were left without drinks (including water) for quite a while. We also had some delays in getting the wine served with the courses - but nothing that put us off.
It's a great place for a night out but you should dress up and make the night feel special. Lots of people were there in jeans and casual gear, but we put on dresses, make-up and heels and I think the experience benefited from it!
