“A stunning place”
Reviewed March 15, 2014

You cannot be in this region of France and go to this amazing place. It can be very busy, the streets are narrow and fairly packed with coach loads of people but the atmosphere is something else. Like other reviewers, get there early if you can. Don't wait until 12.00 for lunch, it will be packed. Choose a place before and get seated!
Take time to explore all the ramparts and narrow streets. It is a definite must do sort of place.

“Excellent attraction”
Reviewed March 8, 2014

Go early as possible, before the main castle opens, wander round then head for the main part 20 mins before it opens get in first, then you have about 2hrs of wandering round, then go to lunch and then leave! Btw if you look like a student say you are and get in at student rates. Oh and if you can go out of the main holiday period like February when there are less visitors, you will enjoy the attraction more.

“Fasinating - with stunning views”
Reviewed March 7, 2014

Decided to visit in February. Understandably the majority of the shops etc., were closed but nevertheless the visit was well worthwhile. The cathederal and shops were super and we managed to find an excellent restaurant for lunch. Definately worth a visit

“Old but good”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

Excellent old city restored to near new. Very touristy with lots of shops and restaurants and places to stay inside the walls. This is a great walking city to visit. The castle is also worth the admission to see (watch the film). No cars!

“Great Fun”
Reviewed February 28, 2014

Although it's a little touristy, it's a wonderful place to visit. It doesn't feel to touristy because it captures the imagination so well. Make sure and stay within the fortress. Waliking around brings history alive. It's got lots of shops bot only a few have authentic medieval items. The restaurants are fantastic and the nightlife is great. Make sure to visit the church and keep.

If your idea of fun is sleeping in, eating crepes, experiencing a two thousand year old castle, exploring hoardings, walls, and turrets, having a great supper, and enjoying a few drinks with friends, then this is the place for you. Or you can drink a bottle of wine on the grass in the night under the drawbridge and make out with your lover in one of the most romantic settings imaginable.
