A bit on the pricey side but perfect location inside the city walls. good kitchen facilities and multilingual staff. One guy, Michael I think, spoke 5 or 6 languages fluently. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. The curfew could become annoying but we were there for just one night. The plastic sheets you get for your bed are a bit strange.

Amazing location, situated right in the middle of the fortified city, pictures of this amazing city do not it justice, you have to be there to really feel it! The hostel itself, is bright, clean and friendly. Staff there were extremely helpful and knowledgable about the local area and it's attractions. The hostel had a bar with very reasonably priced drinks, spacious seating and courtyard. Good for socialising, it wasn't long before I got chatting to people a good mix of nationalities. The dorms were clean and comfortable sleeping a maimum of 6 people, big lockers to put your rucksack keeping your possessions secure. Bathrooms were always clean, not the best showers in the world but adequate. Breakfast was simple but fine, also a kitchen in the hostel that could be used by anyone.
At 20 euros a night for B&B you can't go wrong, I would definitely return there.

As the other reviews state there is no arguing with the fact that this hostel is in a great location, but thats about all it's got going for it.

The main factor that is not stated anywhere before you book is that you will be literally locked out of your room every day from 10am until 3pm! apparently for cleaning! although the bedding is disposable tissue paper so what the cleaners have to do is beyond me.

The showers are terrible they stay on a dribble and you have to press the button every 3 seconds for anything to come out, so forget about washing your hair. The wifi facility never works.

The rooms are incredibly hot so you have to have your windows open onto a courtyard which often has people drinking and making a lot of noise until the early hours. As for the breakfast quite possibly the worst. No matter what time you get down to the dining room there is never anything left! not even a coffee! if you are lucky you may get a lump of bread and a glass of orange squash!

It wouldn't be so bad but this hostel is not particularly cheap I would definitely opt to pay a little extra and stay at a B&B/guest house.

The hostel is in the middle of the Carcassonne fortress. Never been to such a place before! Good service and clean place. Recommend it!
