“Just Perfect”

Having briefly visited Carcassonne once before, we said that it would be lovely to come and stay actually in La Cite and this sounded great. Flew into Carcassonne very early in the morning, arriving at the gates of La Cite by 9.30am. I had previously notified Igor of this and he was more than happy to receive us at this time. He came along to collect us from the gates in his golf buggy to take us to his place. It was better than we had hoped. Great location and inside is just lovely. Beautifully appointed rooms and a lovely big bathroom. Igor tells you to make yourself at home and means it too! His breakfasts are something to behold. Wonderful breads & pastries, homemade jams and the local cheeses are fantastic. Lovely relaxing lounge area. The best start to a holiday I think we have ever had. Treat yourself and try it out.

Maison dans la Cite turned out to be the perfect choice for us for a place to stay our one night in Carcassonne. It's a lovely small hotel in the perfect location inside the city walls. Our stay was brief so we just had to walk out our door to explore and had a short walk to our very excellent meal at La Barbacane. That was especially lovely because the weather was nice enough for dining to be set up outside. Igor was a wonderful host, breakfast was outstanding (terrific eggs prepared by Igor), parking and transport to the hotel was easy. There's a reason all of the reviews are so good!

If you want to stay in La Cite, this is an excellent choice. My mother was traveling with us, so Igor picked us up at the entrance to the city where our taxi dropped us in his little golf cart. Igor is very friendly and eager to be of assistance. Our room was on the first floor and was quite spacious for three of us with a double bed and two twins. I really liked the mix of modern and old furnishings--very attractive look and the spiral stone staircase is especially cool. Igor fixed a fantastic breakfast. Even the croissants were better than any of our other breakfasts because they were heated and nice and crispy on the outside. He also had an assortment of homemade jams that I wanted to eat by the spoonful. He also fixed us eggs--I don't eat eggs, but even I thought they looked good. The only two things that were slight drawbacks were: it was a little noisy in the evening at the bar across the street (but they weren't open that late) and that we were dependent on Igor to get us back to the taxi stand in the morning (though most people could walk if they don't have too much luggage). There were other guests needing breakfast, so we didn't want to inconvenience Igor or the other guests. This is not a criticism of Igor--I'm sure if I had said we needed to leave immediately he would have dropped everything. Rather, I mention it because it is a consideration when choosing if you should stay in La Cite or just outside the walls. Overall, this is a wonderful place to stay and you will feel extremely welcome by the very friendly reception and service you receive from Igor.

We had a 2 night stay in Carcassone, perfect to discover the city. We had the family room for 2 adults and 3 children. Ideal location, Igor makes you feel at home. Fantastic fresh breakfast. Nothing more to say, just try it!

We had the most amazing time during our week's stay in Carcassonne. Igor was a perfect host, being charming, friendly but never over-the-top or instrusive. He was always helpful. His mum was equally lovely.

The hotel is right in the centre of the medieval city, close to restaurants, bars and shops. Parking was free and on our last day Igot drove us to our car in is golf buggy!

Breakfasts were enormous - bread, pastries, cheese, sausage, fried eggs and fruit! We often barely had anything for lunch.

We went at an amazing time for the city - around Bastille day, so we saw the fireworks - and the festival, where we saw the Arctic Monkeys and the Smashing Pumpkins at the open air theatre.

Our room was lovely and peaceful, with a comfy bed and powerful shower. Brilliantly cold air conditioning too. Couldn't have been nicer!

Even better than expected. Igor was very helpful, knowledgable about Carcassonne and always happy to help and provide you with anything you need. The location couldn't be better, you can park for free minutes away and you're right in middle of the medieval city. It's quiet, super comfortable and relaxing, thanks to the air con, the really nice bed and the amazing breakfast. It's not quite and Bed & Breakfast, it's more of a Super Bed & Top Breakfast. We would definitely go back there. Thanks for an amazing stay!

Our time in Carcassone at la Maison dans la Cite was one of the highlights of our trip! Igor made us feel right at home. He started by helping us get our luggage into the city with his golf cart (guest's vehicles are not allowed in the city walls) and then cracked a bottle of wine for us to enjoy as we relaxed in the lobby. We arrived a bit late in the evening, but he made a phone call to a friend of his who worked at a nearby restaurant to ensure that they would keep the kitchen open for us. We enjoyed a wonderful meal there and his friend was an excellent and entertaining server. We then spent the rest of the night exploring within the city walls. The next morning Igor and his mother prepared a "family breakfast" a bountiful feast of breads, cheeses, sausage, fruit, juice, coffee, tea and freshly cooked eggs by Igor himself! We wish we could have stayed longer. The accommodations were clean and well maintained; however, it is Igor's hospitality that made our experience exceptional!
