“Perfect Location”

Location, location, location! Very short walk(several minutes) to Citadel with view of walls from hotel. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful and all desk staff spoke English. Ample parking for cars(no charge). All other aspects of hotel were average at best. Rooms were small and clean. Towels were too small.

Enchanted place for a visit but really need a car. Easy to find from airport with buses 100m from hotel. Room 205 the best with access straight on to pool terrace. Large breakfast room with good choice. Only complaint is the bed was very hard and no mini fridge, but other than that it was excellent.

So close to the gates of the Citadel of Carcassone and river and town. Rooms were clean and quiet - staff extremely pleasant/friendly - fantastic location for short stay. Didn't chose breakfast, instead wandered across river into main town. Hotel has car park.

Carcassonne is a MUST to visit when travelling in this part of France, and hotel Aragon is a very Nice place to stay.
Tbe breakfast restaurant was under reconstruction when we visitted mid September ant the temporary breakfast-room was a bit overcrowded, but other than that, the place was very nice with clean rooms, helpfull staff and super location for visiting the "Cite".
The hotell also offers private parking which is a great advantage in his city.
We'll be coming back !!

You're 3 mins' walk from the gates of the citadel of Carcassonne. Or in the other direction you can walk to the Pont Vieux and cross the river into the Bastide in 10 minutes. There are loads of bars & eateries in the citadel, but you don't even need to go that far as there's a decent enough cafe/restaurant just across the street from the hotel.

The welcome was friendly, best of all was the guy who was on reception on our first morning (sadly I didn't get his name) who spoke excellent English and went out of his way to suggest places we could visit -- we had a car and wanted to explore the countryside one day, he recommended several villages, castles etc and viewpoints, with a really personal touch, not just telling you what it says in all the brochures. We followed several of his suggestions and had a brilliant day out.

Our room was smallish but with typically French character, and spotlessly clean with a very nice bathroom. The view was pleasant (nearby houses, trees, rooftops, distant hills) but nothing special. We found the room very quiet and slept well.

Some previous reviewers thought the breakfast was inadequate for the price -- it's 9 euros on top of the room price. It's true you can walk to a nearby cafe and get breakfast for 5 euros, but that will be coffee, juice & a croissant. For our 9 euros we had a generous continental buffet with cereals, yogurt, fresh fruits (delicious nectarines!), fresh rolls, croissants, pains au chocolat, cheese, ham, honey, jam etc etc (including some homemade quince jam), as well as your coffee & juice, all in unlimited quantities. To me, it's not bad value to just fall out of bed and have all that laid out in front of you, with efficient service and everything clean & tidy. So, if you need to save your cash, then don't take breakfast in the hotel; but for me, if you add it into the price of the room, it comes to very good value for a hotel in this location.

Oh, and then there's the swimming pool. Secluded, in a suntrap courtyard, we usually had it to ourselves -- what more could you ask? Just to know before you go: The pool is deep, there's no shallow end, so it's not suitable for small children or non-swimmers.

The Hotel is ok. Impression probably depends on the room you get. Some of the rooms on the basement floor have windows on the parking, which was my case. And not so pleasant. Acustic isolation is far from perfect too. From my room, 107, and I guess rooms around 107 as well, during the day you can perfectly listen to anything happening at the reception. rooms are small but ok and clean. Bathroom is ok, nothing fancy but decent and clean. The hotel has a really nice swimming pool. The best asset of this hotel is definetively the location. 3 mins walk to the entrance to the walled city of Carcassone. If you have no car and want to stay in Carcassone it could be a good option. From the station you might want to geta cab to reach the hotel, especially with luggage. It's 10 mins ride and roughly 7-8 eur.

We stayed here for 3 nights with our teenage daughters. We had 2 adjoining rooms overlooking the pool with great views of the castle. Car parking was easy in their car park and the staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel was quiet, very clean, the rooms comfortable and modern but beautifully decorated. The airconditioning was efficient and welcome in such high temperatures, the flat screen tv and modern bathroom all added to the comfort of our stay. The pool area much nicer than in the photo, a lovely deep clean pool in a sun trap of a courtyard with no smoking on the sun beds meant you could get some smoke free fresh air!! With just a 5 minute walk up to the castle wall this hotel has a fantastic location for the price. We skipped the 9Euro breakfast and ate in the city. Downside of this hotel would be the breakfast room as its tiny and breakfast not that good. Our teenagers voted this a great little hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the pool as you are away from the road plus you get a view of the castle
