“Tourist Trap”
Reviewed June 16, 2014

Don`t go here, its definitly not worth the € 9,50 (!!!) they charge to see some uninteresting, old, worndown not authentic artefacts. Poorly maintained, worndown.
Even if it was free of charge, not worth a visit !

“No way is this a 'must visit' museum”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

A visit to this 'museum' is, in my opinion, a waste of money. It contains a collection of 'dummies' dressed in replicas of ancient robes and some modern reproductions of medieval implements of torture. The whole visit took less than 15 minutes

“Thank goodness we didn't live in those days.”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

It is a good display of the torture implements of the middle ages.
The Catholic church really was run by some evil people in those days. You did not have to have done anything wrong to be subjected to some terrible treatment. It is a good reminder of just how awful people can be.

“A little shabby...but a good learning experience”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

The biggest disappointment with this museum was that almost all the exhibition descriptions were written in TERRIBLE English. They'd clearly just done a google translate- some of the descriptions were almost incomprehensible! Luckily I speak French, so could read the French then translate in normal English to my sister so she could get the most out of it. Overall it was interesting to see the instruments of torture, and we are glad we went. Would I recommend this? Well, if you are visiting a medieval site for the first time, it goes with the theme and is a unique visit- but your expectations should not be too high. The quality of the visuals is shabby, but the content makes for a good learning experience.

“Very poor value for money”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

Visited this museum on Sunday 19th May. The first section was just a collection of mannequins behind curtains/doors with eerie music, noises and dimmed lighting. The second section did provide some historical artefacts and details but all a bit stomach churning - definitely not a place to bring children. Very overpriced and not really worth the visit.
