Patrick's a great host, very helpful and accomodating. We thoroughly enjoyed a much needed bit of R&R in Carcassonne. Breakfast, outdoors, overlooking the Cite is a good way to start the day. The Cite and the Bastide are only a matter of minutes away, and the River Aude is only a few yards away.

We have just arrived back from a 4 night stay at this guest house. Patrick the owner made us feel very welcome and had some great recommendations for things to do and places to eat. The breakfasts on the terrace which we had for the first two mornings as it was very warm were fantastic, lovely croissant, jams , and fruity granola with yogurt and honey, just the job for a good start to a day of walking. Whe room was spacious and clean and the bed was bigger than a normal double which was nice and it was comfortable. The bathroom was modern and the room was tidied and cleaned every day which was very nice to come back to. We would recommend this guest house to anyone staying in Carcassonne. You can't go wrong. Oh and there is plenty of parking outside if you have a car and the view from the terrace to the medieval city is even better then the photo on the website. Access by foot to both the old and new towns are good. Thanks Patrick

We stayed here for two nights and can recommend it to anyone wanting somewhere to stay in Carcassonne. Ideally situated between the old city and the new and with fantastic views of the old city from the terrace where you have breakfast.

Our room was a good size and nicely furnished with a large shower room. Breakfast on the terrace looking across to the old city was wonderful and consisted of fruit salad with yogurt and granola, orange juice, croissants and various breads.

Patrick, our host, was extremely helpful with advice on where to eat and what to see. I would have given an excellent rating but for one area which I felt was lacking and that was the rather sad state of the pots of flowers on the terrace. True it was the end of the season but they looked like they needed a bit of t.l.c.

My friend & I stayed at Carcassonne Guest House for 2 nights from 17-19th September and had a wonderful stay.
Our room was very spacious, clean & had some lovely touches. The bathroom was particularly lovely with a massive shower & pretty mirror!
Breakfast was delicious on the terrace overlooking the medieval city- yogurt & muesli followed by lots of breads, cheeses, pastries etc. Patrick was a very attentive host & gave us lots of recommendations which was handy.
The location is fantastic- right between the new town & the medieval city, both a 10-minute walk away.
We will be spreading the word about this b&b as it was everything we wanted and more. Forget booking a hotel, choose this little gem & get a more personal experience.

Myself and partner stayed here for three nights at the end of August. We had a wonderful time – the guesthouse is perfectly positioned between the old and new town so there is always something to do. The view from the terrace is nothing short of spectacular – to eat breakfast in such surroundings was an unforgettable experience. The guesthouse was lovely – very clean, free wi-fi, great breakfast and a very hospitable and welcoming host with tips and advice about making the most of your stay. I am so glad to have stumbled across it and will most certainly return. I have recommended it to friends and family and will continue to do so – excellent find! I would struggle to find any fault with it.

Room Tip: If there are two or more of you I would just take a cab to or from the airport - not much in differe...

My wife and I stayed 3 nights, reluctantly leaving this morning for a long drive to Brittany. We had come to the guesthouse after 6 hectic days in Paris and Patrick O'Sullivan, our host, made us so welcome and gave us all the touring, driving and dining tips, that without them, we would have seen and done far less. In fact, when we were making the booking last July, Patrick gave us lots of details to help in the trip planning. The breakfasts were healthy and nicely prepared. The weather was perfect, so we were able to enjoy breakfast on the terrace wit the best view in Carcassonne of Le Cite. We had a very spacious bedroom, well appointed with modern bathroom facilities and a great shower. It is inconceivable that anyone would give this guesthouse a poor rating as a couple of people did. True, Patrick had some requests (I would not call them rules) to ensure that guests and next-door-neighbors are able to enjoy a good night's sleep. If you want to sit around late at night and laugh and enjoy yourself, go to a bar where you can whoop it up all you want. Who cares about tablecloths on the terrace tables! This establishment is worth every penny that Patrick charges which I thought was very reasonable. That is why Carcassonne Guesthouse holds #1 ranking of B&B's in Carcassonne.

Definitely will return if I ever get a chance.

Nice room, but not a very welcoming house. No sitting room for guests and terrace closed at 10.30pm - what is one supposed to do then? Bed and Breakfasts in Carcassone are too expensive, and the hotel up the road from this B and B was about the same price, providing full range of facilities, and no rules about time or where you can sit or go in the house, but we didn't want to renege on our booking. Furniture on terrace not particularly nice, no table cloths, and portions very rigid.
