“Do not miss”
Reviewed November 13, 2012

Visited this restaurant on our first night in Carcassonne and were so impressed that we returned on our last night. Authentic Moroccan food freshly cooked. We tried the b'stilla, various cous cous and tagines, all excellent. Had several pastries and finished with mint tea, brilliant. The second evening the chef was working alone and managed front of house as well as all the cooking, wonderful. Do not miss this place.

“Charming Experience”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

We enjoyed a dinner here and we found the hosts so genuine and friendly. It is a really friendly restaurant to eat in and the food was fantastic. It is a husband and wife team and we were very happy to spend our money in their charming restaurant. It is quite small, but the decor is welcoming and comfortable. I would encourage anyone to visit this restaurant while staying in Carcassone. It really is an enjoyable experience and great value for money.

“Moroccan cuisine--a delicious bargain in Carcassonne.”
Reviewed March 4, 2012

This tiny cafe can be a busy place at lunch time, but the food was great and the service was attentive and friendly--just a bit slow at the height of the lunch hour when the restaurant was full and only one person, apparently the owner, was waiting on tables. Our lunch for two, including our nicely spiced main courses, beverages, and pastry for dessert, was a modest 25 euros, the least expensive restaurant meal we experienced during our month in France, and worth every cent. My glass of mint tea was fabulous, nothing like mint tea out of a box from the grocery store. All in all, this "restaurant marocain" offers a pleasant, affordable encounter with a variation of French food. The owner speaks English, which can be helpful, and, other than us, the cafe was patronized by locals--a good sign. It's a little gem on a side street near the train station, and we were glad we wandered in.

“Don't miss this little gem”
Reviewed June 26, 2011

We discovered this little gem of a family restaurant tucked away in a quiet street in Carcassonne's Bastide St Louis.
The welcoming husband talked us through the Moroccan menu while his wife worked her magic in the tiny kitchen.
Make sure you finish with mint tea and delicious home-made pastries. At these prices you can afford to treat yourself. (Tajine and couscous maincourses start at 8 euros and there are lunchtime deals.)
