We had a lovely week's holiday in this pretty, beautifully-decorated gîte We were happy just to sit on the sunny front terrace and read (there are lots of books). It's such a lovely spot. There are superb views across the vineyards from the shady rear terrace. A couple of times we enjoyed the two-kilometres walk to the hilltop village, Routier, from where there are wonderful panoramic views towards the Pyrenees. We did also venture forth for mountain drives to see Cathar chateaux and to explore Carcassonne and Mirepoix. You do need a car. Thank you, Trish and Steve, for your helpfulness and hospitality. We had a great time. À bientôt!
We stayed here 3 years ago in spring / early summer and had a great time. The accommodation is perfect as is the location for peace and quiet, and it's close enough to many of the regional towns and cities.
It was lovely to return at a different time of year and enjoy the vendanges (grape harvest)
This gite was perfect for myself and my husband, who wanted a week in a stylish property in a quiet location. The owner Trish responded to all of our queries quickly and efficiently, and helped us with restaurant bookings. She was also flexible about check-in and check-out times, which really helped.
The photos do not do the gite justice - the view from the back over vineyards is spectacular - and the rooms are tastefully decorated in the French country style. There are lovely places to eat and drink nearby, but a car is necessary. I can't recommend this gite highly enough.
Great week lovely setting, tastefully decorated clean outstanding views and lovely outside areas to sit both back and front.
We really enjoyed our stay. Lots to do in the area. The gite is maintained to high standard. Clear directions were given by the owner. Convenient for Carcasonne airport. Car is required.
A very well presented Gite, in a very quiet location not to from from Limoux with excellent unspoiled views at rear of property, also has excellent secluded eating area to front, a real get away form it all location and at the same time plenty to see not to far away. The local wine is very nearly worth the trip alone, but the cherries are!
Having stayed previously at Les Jasmins eight years ago, we were delighted to return and experience again the wonderful beauty and peace of this special place. The cottage has been lovingly restored, with skill, care and attention to detail and will exceed expectations! Inside, spotlessly clean, with ample room for two or three people; outside, both terraces provide comfortable attractive areas with the rear terrace affording uninterrupted views across the vineyards of Fournery. Limoux is a ten minutes drive, car essential we think (although it's a popular area for walking) and there are many interesting places to visit within a one hour drive. The owners, who live next door, are always available if needed for advice, but never intrusive.
Les Jasmins is a perfect retreat for those seeking a French rural idyll, with easy access to amenities and some of the most beautiful countryside in France.
