“Perfect -”
Reviewed August 23, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We stayed here for a week in June and desperately needed a place to relax . Domaine du Renne was the perfect choice. Flight from Bristol to Toulouse, then 100 kms drive - easy.

A debacle at the car hire office made us late leaving the airport .We then needed to buy some food for breakfast , we found the only supermarket en route closing its shutters as we approached the doors ! Hal , the English owner of the gite, saved the day by giving us a bottle of wine on arrival then disappeared back to his house and returned with croissants, milk, tea, jam for our breakfast. - for which we were very grateful.
The sun shone and we had a lovely week, pottering around deserted hillside towns, people watching by the square in Limoux, sightseeing in Carcassonne. Breakfast on our little terrace overlooking vineyards, lunch outside and BBQ's in the evening . The swimming pool was very welcome after a hot day's sightseeing and was the perfect temperature in the early evening sun.
Hal recommended a local vineyard to visit - we did and we loved Chateau Guilhem - family run, organic and stunning wines. So much so that we are buying their wines and have been invited to their harvest and lunch at the end of September .

We loved our holiday and wish we could have stayed longer. Hal was the perfect host and we had the added bonus of having Milo visit us every morning .

“Superb Accomodation in Beautiful Countryside.”
Reviewed December 31, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

This beautifully and thoughtfully appointed Gites is the perfect base for a perfect holiday, if you can get yourself to leave it. We spent a very relaxing week discovering local markets where we bought our lunch each day. We really enjoyed exploring the Cathar castles of the region. Hal and Louise have created something very special at La Renne. the Gites is generously furnished and the terraces and pool give a family lots of options to spread out enjoy being in such magnificent countryside. It was a blissful holiday.

“Best Gite Ive ever stayed in,classy and cosy!”
Reviewed December 29, 2013 for a stay in December 2013

Stayed in this Gite Ist week in Dec,as I wanted to go sight seeing and shopping in Carcassonne.20 mins drive. The owners Hal and Louise were first class hosts. The place is just pure bliss.5 Star rating. The Gite was cosy and comfortable it had everything we needed.Th attention to detail, nothing went a miss!
I have stayed in 3 Gites around the Carcassonne area, and Hal,s place beats them all.
The Terrace outside had herbs and plants,a dinning area,a fab big pool.
The interior of the Gite was so pretty, everything luxurious, the beds the bed head, sofas lovely and comfy white and clean. There is a wood burner in the corner of the living room, for those who would like to stay in Autumn or Spring.
This Gite is suitable for children and couples,I cant wait to go back!

“Wonderfully located, relaxing and well-equipped gite.”
Reviewed November 4, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Domaine du Renne is nestled deep in the scenically rich wine-growing Languedoc countryside but within easy distance of Carcassonne, Limoux and many other historic and physical attractions. The gites are modern and well-equipped for comfort and easy holiday living. The owner, Hal Adams, bends over backwards to ensure that visitors enjoy their stay. In the fortnight we were there he invited us to his home for two barbecues, introduced us to local wineries and was always on hand if any problems arose. A reassuring host! If you are looking for a quiet rural retreat and a real flavour of Southern France with its sunny climate and superb food and wine, this is your answer. Thoroughly recommended.

“Quiet comfort in an unspoiled landscape”
Reviewed October 24, 2013 for a stay in November 2012

We came here for a long weekend in deepest November, at the invitation of Hal, the owner, as we wanted to look at the place for a possible booking next summer. Hal, Milo and Matilda were very welcoming, and we fell in love with the place almost immediately. Well-equipped, with comfortable sofa, armchair and bed, a digital telly, DVD player, a roomy kitchen and modern bathroom, the gite has everything required by two people. And, with the pre-Christmas weather trying out its muscles outside, we lounged indoors each evening with a couple of bottles of the local red- of which there is great variety- and a roaring fire. Days were spent wandering through the rolling vineyards just outside the door, gazing at the snow-capped Pyrenean peaks beyond, or sipping coffee in the square of nearby Limoux. A good variety of supermarkets were easily accessible, while local produce markets were reachable on many days of the week. We had to save a dip in the pool until warmer weather returned! And, yes, the booking for the next year was made...

“Relaxing holiday in stunning surroundings”
Reviewed October 23, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

This was our second visit to domain du renne and it seems to get better each time, The Gite is beautifully decorated and comfortable, it has everything you need for a lovely chilled holiday.

We travelled around a bit more on this visit and saw some lovely places. Mirepoix was great such a lovely place to sit and have lunch and watch the world go by.
We also went back to Carcasson 'La Cite' walked the Ramparts and went into the torture museum, i would recommend flat shoes for a visit to Carcasson as it is all cobbled streets!

Hal was great, always on hand to help or offer advise on where is good to go or nice places to eat.
I would highly recommend Tantine et tonton in Limoux, the food and wine are AMAZING and the owner and staff are lovely.

I have to finish the review talking about the resident dogs, Milo and Matilda, they are such lovely dogs and great company for walks In the woods!
I loved opening the door each morning and seeing their happy little faces :)

“The perfect place to spend a peaceful secluded holiday”
Reviewed October 18, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

The owner, Hal Adams was always on hand to deal with any questions or requirements, (even providing petrol when we almost ran out). The gites are varied - cosy fpr two or spacious for four. They are well equipped and secure. Wonderful location, great views, shops, s/markets, restaurants - 10mins. We liked the seclusion, (car is essential), - with a large, private pool, BBQ, patios and walks.
