Owner description: Vin en Vacances is a vineyard tour company run by Wendy Gedney, an English woman with a passion for this wonderful area and its wines. Wendy is a wine teacher and during the tours not only will you have a thoroughly enjoyable day, you will also learn a great deal about wine and tasting. Her aim is to provide you with an experience that you can’t easily create for yourself and during the day you will explore the regions, meet some of the most interesting vignerons, taste their wines and enjoy a superb lunch. Wendy's tours always include other fabulous things such as a visit to a goat farm, a pretty village or olive oil tasting.

“Best Wine Tour Ever”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

We thoroughly enjoyed our Vin en Vacance experience. Wendy was an excellent guide with an indepth knowledge of the wine industry and history of the region. She made our experience both entertaining and educational.
We started our day with a visit to an organic vineyard situated up high with amazing views and were given an opportunity to taste a selection of their wines. We visited the village market of St - Chinian and had time to wander around and purchase some of the local produce. From there it was off to lunch where we were served a delicious cassoulet (washed down by local wine of course) followed by a visit to a second vineyard. It was here I was introduced to Muscat wine with my favourite being 'Muscat on the Rocks'.On the way home we stopped off at the ancient village of Minerve where we had time to explore and learn a little about the Cathar siege that took place there 800 years ago. Fascinating!
Wendy tells us she has recently written a book which is currently being published. Given her extensive knowledge and ability to make it all so interesting I plan to buy one as soon as they become available.
Best thing of the whole day? Wendy managed to finally give me a true appreciation of how the flavours of different wines and different foods enhance each other!

“Knowledge and enthusiasm”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

Wendy was extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic and interesting. Her stories made the wine come alive, connecting the wines with the region, its terroir and its history. If and when we return this tour is a must.

“A true French Winery experience”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

Absolutely amazing. The wineries we went to were superb and the picnic at Domaine de la Dourbie was outstanding. Marcel's knowledge of wine & food helped create the whole experience. The visit to Sainte Cecile Du Park Winery really impressed us and the wine was wonderful. This tour should be a priority on your things to do.

“Great day out”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

This was a great day out. Wendy and Peter were fantastic hosts and were both entertaining and knowledgeable both about wines and also regarding the local history of the region.

We had an enjoyable midday lunch in Domain Gaya and pushed on to the home of Sparkling Wine and onwards to Chateau Martinolles.

Thoroughly enjoyable and fantastic value for the day.

“Perfect day”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

We had a wonderful experience with Wendy as a guide while visiting wine producers in La Clape. Wendy is a fountain of knowledge about the history of Languedoc-Roussillon as well as the art of winemaking and we learnt a lot in just a few hours. We had lunch at a marvellous restaurant by the sea (which we clearly would not have found on our own) and we got so much more out of the winery visits thanks to Wendy's presence. Some of the wines we tasted were really very good and I could only have wished for more space in the luggage!
