Owner description: Vin en Vacances is a vineyard tour company run by Wendy Gedney, an English woman with a passion for this wonderful area and its wines. Wendy is a wine teacher and during the tours not only will you have a thoroughly enjoyable day, you will also learn a great deal about wine and tasting. Her aim is to provide you with an experience that you can’t easily create for yourself and during the day you will explore the regions, meet some of the most interesting vignerons, taste their wines and enjoy a superb lunch. Wendy's tours always include other fabulous things such as a visit to a goat farm, a pretty village or olive oil tasting.

We spent a day with Wendy in October 2012 and had a fabulous experience. She made learning about the wines of southern France so interesting and accessible. We went to two very different wineries - one a small boutique, artisinal winery run by an Englishwoman with longstanding ties to the Fitou region, and one a larger family winery run by a Frenchwoman who is the 8th generation of her family to own this winery. We also visited a small apiary and had an excellent honey tasting. And in the middle, a fantastic picnic sitting in the middle of a vinyard - I felt like we were in a movie! I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. Wendy is incredible.

We booked our wine tour with Wendy before leaving Australia and highly recommend Vin en Vacances. As four women staying in Caunes Minervois without our own car it was easy to meet Wendy in her silver mini van near the local school. Wendy took us to two boutique wineries in different regions of the countryside, the home of an excellent French Cook for lunch, a walk around the lovely old town of Lagrasse, a visit to a Goats Cheese farm where we fed the baby goats and tasted the cheeses and then an impromtu visit to an old Church we had wanted to see near Caunes Minervois . We learned about and tasted a lovely range of local wines, enjoyed the company of four other travellers from the UK and had a delicious lunch. We loved seeing so much of the French countryside and villages. Wendy gave us a full and very special day that we will always remember.

My husband and I went on Wendy's wine tour this September and we loved it! Wendy had more knowledge than the vineyard owners themselves! We also liked the fact that we did more than "just" visit the vineyards--we also had an EXCELLENT lunch at the home of a French woman who used to own a cafe in the area. We also walked around a town, and went to a goat farm to sample the goat cheese.

Very informative and enjoyable way to spend the day . Wendy's extensive knowledge of the area and the type of wines in the region was a major asset, there was no pressure to purchase the wines and the lunch included in the tour was excellent.

My Husband and I were warmly greeted by Wendy when she picked us up in Carcassonne. The group of 8, one by one, introduced themselves and gave Wendy an insight into which wines we usually drank at home. The first stop was Domain Gayda where after the tour and very educational tasting lesson, we had an excellent 3 course lunch, with magnificant views over to the mountains. Next stop was the Abbey in Saint-Hilaire, Limoux, where Wendy told us that it is believed that the monks produced the world's first fizzy wines. Just a short journey from here was the second vinyard for us to tour. Here we tasted 3 Limoux sparkling wines to round this wonderful day off. Wendy is such a lovely welcoming lady, who made us feel relaxed, while she shared her wealth of knowledge.
