“Cheap and cheerful stopover”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2013

Myself and three friends were staying over in Carcassonne for one night to go to a concert, so basically just wanted somewhere to sleep. The location is great, 2 minute walk from the medieval city and lots of free parking. The staff at the check in desk were friendly and our apartment was perfectly clean. There was one double bed in a small bedroom and a pull out sofa bed in an already small lounge, so not ideal for four people for any length of time, but for a night it was absolutely fine, and we knew when we booked that would be the case. We used the indoor pool the next day, which was clean but small. There was also a little kitchen with a small hob and pots/ pans etc and a dishwasher and fridge, which again is handy if you're on a budget. It does exactly what it says on the tin, and for the price I would definitely recommend it.

We stopped here (2 families of 4) for two nights recently as we had an early morning flight from Carcassonne but wanted to spend a day exploring the castle... We didn't want to have to unpack everything - this hotel was perfect for us. We had ajoining 2-bed apartments. They were spotlessly clean; crisp white linen bedding; plenty of clean white towels; toileteries; and a fully equipped kitchen. It also had a large balcony with patio furniture; a swimming pool and gym - a great find and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend it...

First off, the location was not that great, it was not close to the rail station, travellers with huge luggages should prepare for a good 20-30 mins walk from the rail station.. It was not a smooth drag as the roads are just like a share market with its ups and downs, it would be better for one to halt a cab and reach the premise comfortably.. But if you love the local scenery which we do, it's an effort to get there but worth it as you will be walking towards the old city with a great chance to snap a photo with the old city as your background.. It's beautiful.. For light travellers, recommended! When we reach the place, it was like a vacation rental, reminds me of chalets by the beach.. Do beware of their reception operation time, we were there early and there was no one around.. It's best to first ask about your check in time and be there at the exact time.. So we got the keys and proceeded to our room.. Also, the only place to get WiFi is at the lobby, there is no coverage inside the room.. For avid surfers, you may wanna check elsewhere.. We took the studio room, the rooms was spacious, with a kitchen for our use- all cooking utensils were complete and there's no problem in this area.. There is a hypermarket nearby about 10-15 mins walk, and yes it's a hypermarket! Not an average mini market.. We had some great shopping, bought plenty of fresh veges, there's a great selection of wines and cooked a fine meal for everyone.. After dinner was a walk to the old city at night, we were there during the autumn, and it was cold but we loved it.. The walk was about 5-8 mins, and you get to see the old city at night, it very different from the day view.. We toured the old city and encountered a group of "peace" seekers.. Yeah, they were holding swords with the tips on fire, and I happened to overheard it was some tradition during the old days..Cool! Back inside the room, we prepared ourselves for bed, the bed was not great, so don't expect those comfy bed and pillows from Sofitel, cleanliness wise was okay, but there was a strange smell in the bathroom.. I suspect it was the curtain rails deficient of sun light.. Our sleep was peaceful and everything was fine.. So my marks will go to the kitchen coz I love cooking my own meals.. The old city was fun! It reminded me of the Robin Hood Days! ;)

Not fancy and luxurious - but affordable, close to the castle, and a pool for the kids. The rooms were large and the pastry shop was nice. Downfalls were the limited wifi access which was only available when the reception is open at the reception, not in your room. The towels are small and thin, no shower curtain & there is NO where to keep your belongings. No chest of drawers, dresser, etc. But we still enjoyed our time in the city. Service at the reception was mixed - the reception can only be of so much help because when there isn't a maid there they can't do anything.

This apartment complex is located in an excellent position so very close to the Cite. It has all the facilities to allow you to cater at home if you wish but it is also very close to a number of excellent restaurants. The accomodation is very spacious. There is a good security system in place there and plenty parking if you bring a car. It is located close to the airport also and the shuttle bus will bring you right to the entrance to the complex on arrival.

The staff at reception are very helpful and there is plenty local information there also.

The train station is only a twenty minute walk away. Overall an excellent complex in a great location

Room Tip: Ask for view of the Cite

A location close to the cité, but the bed is horrible, it is not a real bed but a sofa that mades awful sounds. The bathroom with no place to hang things and the lack of curtains was bad. I would not stay again

Be aware that this residhotel is close from noon until 4:00P.M. We were extremely fortunate to see someone that was a little late and accepted to put our luggage in the office or we would have had to go back to the train station 2km away.
Our room was most probably for an handiccaped person because it was so bare and unfriendly.
The sound travelled very easily through the walls
The bed was a sofa bed open up with a double sheet on top to make it appear like a double bed
No curtain around the shower so the whole bathroom got wet.
The staff was nice and the breakfeat acceptable.
