well this apartment was nothing less than amazing, my mother and father both in their mid 70's partner and i had a great long weekend here. the apartment was spacious and very tastefully dressed with comfy and quality furniture. the beds were lovely and comfy and the en-suites were great and well equipped. we cooked every evening and the kitchen was more than adequate. it was in great location for the town and train station and only a 15 min walk to the medieval citie, or a few mins on the bus (bus stop outside the door) the patisserie next door was a great little bonus! you won't be disappointed with your hosts they were great and very helpful.
We recently stayed in this stunning, interior designed apartment, we had a very comfortable stay with everything we needed in the apartment, we got our freshly baked croissants in the morning from the bakery downstairs, the location was ideal for both the city and medieval cite and within walking distance to lots of lovely bars, restaurants and tourist attractions and the train station.
This is an excellent apartment, clean, tidy and opulent with all home comforts.A real royal French experience. The balcony was fabulous, quite and a real retreat after a busy day. Only 5 minutes walk to both the station and the start of the main shopping area, so very convenient. Booking and being met at the apartment was a dream. Many thanks Mike for a great experience.
We had not been to France in a number of years so this was a real stab in the dark ? Reviews all sounded positive and for a change they where spot on ! Mike and Peter where superb in booking and making sure we had all the information we required excellent ! Apartment was just fab great layout everything you would require and more after we lugged our cases to first floor the apartment was jaw dropping and lived up to our expectations had everything ! Carcassonne is a super little town and good vantage point to visit other small towns in region ! Narbonne and Agen train service is good but book in advance as getting best fares best value in advance but to name two only slight blip was don't try eat in France ( maybe only this region ) between 2 pm and 6/7 pm as most good hostelries restaurants close or have a break at these hours but coffee and snacks are available! Markets are recommended as lots of great fresh produce and at good prices ! Carfoure ( Tesco/Waitrose) type shop is available in most towns and as at home has everything but markets are best for fresh produce ! In Carcassonne they have a fabulous butchers indoor market with quality quality quality and even with our smattering of poor French we got a fab rib of beef for tea and because we where trying to speak the lingo they gave us a home made piece of charcuterie so friendly folk also but beware before ordering in Any shop big or small make sure you start off with the word 'Bonjour ' is a must as they get wee bit upset if that utterance is not said first ! Anyhow we had a great short break and we picked the best self catering gaff quite by chance but we plan to return and we can't praise Mike and Peter enough keep up the good work guys showing the Scots and English can work together just fine and we plan to speak well of you both and Carcassonne in the months and years ahead ! Thank you Margaret and Charles
We stayed at the Apartment Antoine Marty, which is a separate building to the Carcassonne B&B, located close to the train station and shops. It is a two bedroomed, both with ensuite showers & toilets, it has a large spacious lounge, a dining room, well appointed kitchen, hallways, and furnishings that are simply breathtaking. The level of detail that has gone in to creating this hidden gem is astonishing. The art, the crockery, the comfy beds (one large King in one bedroom, and two twin beds in the other), the crisp clean linen, the lamps, really, everything was just wonderful and it was like being in a stunning home for a week! It's centrally located close to the railway station, easy to walk to the main town shops, market and cafes, secure, it feels safe, and it's generally quiet for such a central position. To the front is a road with the main entrance to the apartment block....Apartment Antoine Marty takes up the whole first floor, it really is very spacious. To the rear, the windows open on to a lovely quiet garden. The owners were hospitable, met us as we arrived, helped with recommendations and were always available should we need them. I would not hesitate to stay here again.....the one thing I would ask is that if you read this review, keep it to yourself! It's a hidden secret, let's keep it that way! I have also posted this review to the Carcassonne B&B link where the same owners have a lovely Bed & Breakfast in a similar area.
We have just spent the most wonderful week in Carcssonne in Apartment Antoine Marty. Our hosts, Peter and Mike were just fantastic and looked after our every need during our stay. The apartment is well situated near the centre of town and within walking distance of the old Cite and the town square. We were able to make ourselves instantly at home and there was a great bakery downstairs open 7 day a week and shops supermarkets and the market minutes away. It was lovely to have such a luxurious yet homely place to stay while exploring the sites around this wonderful part of France.
