We rode the small tourist train (fee) thorough the salt works of this company. It was very interesting to see the huge salt pools, and the process used to "make" sea salt. The trip on the train was enjoyable, sun and lots of breezes. And anther wonderful plus is that you can look back towards the city of Aigues-Mortes and see the entire walled city-beautiful!!

My husband and I travelled on the little train on 16 September 2012, for half-price. The train journey was just as we had read on Tripadvisor. Poor sound quality in the audio, in French. We were given translated sheets in English, which did assist us. For half-price the visit was value for money, but at the full price, it wouldn't be.

Great visit to the salt flats of Aigues Mortes. The train ride through the salt flats was interesting and informative (although the quality of the recorded explanation was poor).

You can walk all town surrounded by walls like fort. Signs are placed in all major intersection with directions which side to go fo see attraction. Once you come out of back side of town trhough small gate you cas see the salt field not immediately you have to walk may be 5-6 more minutes, its like salt fields in Redwood City CA, U.S.A.
This town is walking friendly with lots of places to eat and buy gifts

Fascinating visit on board a little train. Everything you ever wanted to know about salt - and more.
