Le Petit Trianon and it's gardens were my favorite part of the Palace at Versailles. We entered Marie Antoinette's house through a beautiful courtyard where roses still glistened with water droplets. Walking through this lovely house gave me a feeling of what Marie Antoinette's life must have been like. She must have spent time with friends and family in the lovely Salon de Compagnie and woken each morning to see the beautiful, embroidered upholstery in her bedroom. She may have been a flawed human being, but it's hard not to feel sympathy for her fate, as you walk through the house stamped with her sense of design. Be sure to see the captivating gardens, whose English country garden feeling, are also attributed to the former queen.
