I booked through the Hilton Honors website (I've a goldcard with them). No mention of any annex, but they put me in it anyway. Fortunately my room key didn't work so I insisted on a room in the main building, because that's what I thought I was booking. Why should you have to walk across in the cold just to have breakfast.

First room in main hotel - TV didn't work. Second room was OK. Service at breakfast very average for class of hotel.

My message if you're thinking of booking - be aware they might unilaterally put you in the horrible, characterless annex.

Message to hotel management - pull your socks up and make this hotel what it should be!!

Room Tip: Insist on main building.

Dear guest,

Thank you for choosing our hotel during your stay at Versailles.
I am sincerely sorry if there was a misunderstanding when you made your reservation. In fact there are two buildings in our hotel and depending the category of rooms you choose, the rooms are situated in the Pavillon building or in the Palace but it is specified when you go on the photo of the room.
I apologize for the inconveniences you had and took good notice of your comments that I shared with my teams in order to improve the quality of service we offer.
Hoping that you will let us another chance to prove our merits coming back to our hotel.

Sincerely,

A truly wonderful hotel and very good value. Fantastic location friendly and efficient staff. The hotel is an old grand hotel but feels bright and modern inside and the two styes have been married wonderfully. The Gordon Ramsey restaurant (although not a fan of the man) could not be faulted, the food was truly amazing and enjoyed the whole experience.
The next time we visit Paris we will defiantly spend some time at this hotel and will recommend it to our friends.

Room Tip: 309 is a great large room with views over the park and a fantastic bathroom compleat with balcony.

After 6 previous nights in the Paris Hilton, we had gotten accustomed to the convenience of the local public transportation system which is excellent. We were not expecting the long trek to the hotel from the train station over cobblestone roads. Not a bad walk without the luggage, and pretty scenery, but a miserable walk with luggage in tow. The problem is it is difficult to get a taxi for the short trip, but well worth the effort to try. We did arrange for one with the concierge for the trip back. The hotel itself is lovely. The outside gates match those of the chateau itself. You walk out of the hotel gates, turn right, and walk into the palace garden gates. Location next to the Chateau Versailles is amazing. We ate dinner one night at the hotel restaurant. The food was excellent and my wife loved looking at the sheep outside as we ate, but honestly the best meal we had in Versailles was in a Brasserie between the train station and the hotel at 1/5 the cost. The dessert we had at the hotel restaurant however, was the best we had on our entire Paris trip.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for staying with us and thank you for your comments which are constructive and help us to meet the requirements of our guests.
It is true that it is difficult to have a taxi for a short distance and it is true also that even if the station is not far from the hotel and is useful to go to the center of Paris, it is a little difficult when you have luggage. Despite this fact, we do hope that you enjoyed your stay and that you will come back soon, if so please contact our concierge to arrange your transportation.

Sincerely,

This is definitely a luxury hotel, especially the old building in whose reception salon Georges Clemenceau dictated the conditions of the Treaty of Versailles in May 1919. For a visit to Versailles your location could not be better (unless you stayed at the palace itself!) The hotel is right at the Queen's Gate of the Versailles Park, with very easy access to the main palace as well as Grand and Petit Trianon and Marie Antoinette's Estate. If you like running, the approximately 8.5km loop around Grand Canal and up the steps to Water Parterre will make a memorable morning jog.

The check in process was smooth and made even more welcoming by a very tasty fruit juice cocktail that was offered at the reception. Staff were nice and welcoming, and the service overall was of high quality throughout our stay.

The room we had (King Deluxe) was in the Palace part (there's also a newer Pavillion wing). It was very spacious and tastefully decorated (we were a bit afraid of it being tacky; luckily there was no need). I have to give a special mention to the large and spotless bathroom, with probably the best shower I have had.

As you would expect, it's not a cheapest of hotels, but the prices can be quite affordable if you avoid the busiest season (we stayed there in late March). You get much more out of the visit to Versailles by staying overnight, and this hotel makes your stay that little bit more memorable.

Room Tip: Recommend you choose a room in the Palace (old) part.

Very impressed. The sevice was excellent and food in the restaurant very good (but you need to book) if a little expensive but no more than you would usually pay in a hotel of this quality. The bedroom were large well heated and very comfortable. It would have been good to have had a seperate shower in the bathroom as the hieght above the bath was limited. Overall very impressed and clearly a very well managed hotel that employ quality people.

We are very proud that you were impressed by the Trianon Palace and pleased about your comment about our staff. Spent two nights at the Trianon Palace in Versailles. Took the RER in from Paris - don't any of the train stations escalators in Paris work? From the train station its a quick five minute ride to the hotel. As you drive up, you definetly get a different feel than the hub-bub of central Paris. The hotel is on beautiful grounds adjacent to the Versailles palace grounds - though not the main entrance - which is an easy 15 minute walk.

Reception was polite and efficient. As a Hilton Gold Member, the staff was careful to point out the level benefits - free internet, room upgrade if available - as at other Waldorf hotels - no free breakfast. We were given an absolutely fabulous room in the main building. No comparisson to our room in Paris. Bathroom was huge, with a heated tile floor, a great soaking tub and huge shower. In the evening we had excellent turn-down service.

Before dinner, we were given a complimentary glass of champagne in the lounge - a great way to relax before sitting down to a formal meal. We ate dinner in the main restaurant. Menu is fixed price, with choice of appetizer or dessert or both if you wish. Service was very good and the food was excellent. Only negative was that we wanted to have lunch there on one of our days, but the menu was the same as dinner - it would have been nice to have a specific lunch menu at a lower price point.

The concierge did a nice job recommending a couple of other spots for dinner - we're not Gordon Ramsey price-point folks. The spots were just a five to ten minute walk from the hotel and were great!

Lastly, lots of complaints on many of the reviews about prices - Don't expect to find great deals by US standards. Food eveywhere is expensive - a Coke in a regular bistro is going to be 5 Euro's - an alcoholic drink almost everywhere we went was at least 14 Euro's. The bottle of Moet being sold for 41 euro ($54 USD) can be had at Costco for $31. A hamburger cost us 24 Euro in a nice but not extravegant brasserie. Take it all in as part of the experience, otherwise you'll make yourself crazy.

Bottom line - this is the place to stay in Versailles! I can't see us having a better experience - merci to the staff and kudos to Hilton for making this place special.

Even though the room itself is kind of reasonably priced (£175 a night) considering the location (middle of the Versailles Castle park) and the price of the crappy hotel nearby (£110 for a poor Ibis hotel), the price of everything else in the Trianon palace is ridiculous.
Wifi:£25 a day, Breakfast:£30 per person, Parking £20 a night, local phone call £1 a minute, Cup of tea: £10.
That is extortion.
For that reason, I'm not going back.
