We arrived at lunchtime on a very hot day - 36'. The queue for the interior stretched all over the huge cobbled front - twice. We chose to do the gardens instead as there was no queue for this. The gardens are magnificent but a massive disappointment is that the fountains only work at set times in the day and we weren't there at the right time. Dead fountains just don't do it for me! Apparently all they have to do is install a pump!
Versailles town is very interesting and the bars and cafes are lovely with lots of shady places to sit.
So I will return on another occasion - in the morning and having checked beforehand when the fountains are on! I can't comment on toilet facilities etc as I didn't use them.More
