“Authentic traditional French food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2013

An excellent authentic French restaurant on a side street behind Place de Clichy. Much better food than the places out on the main road where there is a lot of foot traffic. The owner was very friendly and spoke excellent English. The setting is a bit old fashioned and quirky, but the food is great. A good place to branch out a little for traditional French food (the marrow was excellent, the foie gras a little rich for me but my wife loved it).

“Excellent”

An excellent restaurant in all ways. First class food, wine and service. Ordered the crayfish tails x2, tarragon chicken x1 and veal x1. Couldn't manage a pudding! Don't be put off by the outside.

“Rustic delicious homey Nosh”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2013

As this was the first time for us in this part of Paris we asked the hotel concierge to recommend somewhere locally in the Sacre Coeur area. Le Bouclard is a little unassuming restaurant and as you step in this is confirmed by the old fashion décor table set ups etc.. I guess it must be a family owned and run place and going back more than a few decades. We were welcomed by who seemed to be the lady patron and she was pleasant and chatty both in french and english throughout our meal. Asparagus and Foie Gras as a starter, the foie home made and to die for served with crunchy warm bread. Fish du Jour cod and red mullet perfectly cooked with a light saffron sauce and Grilled butcher's cut veal served with burning dry thyme. The home made chocolate mousse was the icing on the cake to complete the meal. The menu is pricey if you are on a budget but we were more than happy with the all experience. We would have dined here again on our second night stay too, having not had booked another restaurant just a few yards up the road ( review to follow). Well done Le Bouclard you will certainly see us again.

“Authentic French brasserie - we loved it.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2013 via mobile

We booked a table late on a Friday night as we were due to get to Paris at 9.30 - so this restaurant's location (2 minutes from the Mercure, in a back street off Place de Clichy) was extremely convenient.

An authentic brasserie, it doesn't look much from outside. But once we went in, we were warmly welcomed by the owner - and service throughout was excellent.

The menu has a great level of choice, and each and every course we chose was excellent. They obviously have plenty if local regulars, and I can easily see why.

As we were late, we ended up being the last in the restaurant, but the staff didnt make us feel unwelcome or hurried - they were absolutely charming from start to finish.

Not the cheapest restaurant (others are right to say that the wine is expensive) but we thought we got good value for what we spent. Highly recommended.

“Excellent little restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2013 via mobile

Went to this restaurant after looking at TA reviews and not disappointed. We were the only foreigners in and that added to the experience. Service was attentive and helpful with translation. Ordered the crayfish tails, tarragon chicken, and creme brûlée, all of which was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. The only slight negative I would have is the cost of the wine which seemed excessive but we drank it nonetheless and it was delicious!! In short, a lovely small rustic restaurant used by the locals and I definitely recommend it.
