The best part of Lescure is that you feel like you've stepped back in time a bit. The bathroom, for one thing, turns out to be in another building. Then there's the low ceiling, the even more cramped than usual feeling. It feels authentic and it probably is (been around since 1919). Honestly, the food isn't that remarkable. The service is harried….and they have no space to move around. Still, worth a visit, especially if you're in the area. I wouldn't think of taking a child here, or conducting business unless it was just to talk. I also don't think it's a romantic place, or a place for a drink. Just lunch (noting wrong with that) and maybe a glass from that big bottle of armagnac behind the bar.

All of the previous reviews are correct. The place is small the food is excellent and the service was friendly and attentive. A real winner!

My wife and I ate here on one of our last nights in Paris. We arrived without a reservation, but were warmly welcomed into this cozy bistro. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the staff was accommodating and friendly. The duck confit was an excellent dish, and the sorbets for dessert were outstanding.

We loved the small feel of the room and the great selection of French comfort food. The open kitchen was an excellent touch. The menu was also one of the more affordable that we had found. If we had a fee more days in Paris, we definitely would have visited again.

If your looking for a small bistro with fun, delicious French comfort food and prices you can afford, you've found it. Like a step back in time, not pretentious at all, speak English as well! We had Escargot and Pork Sausage ( our Salami ) for appys. Duck Confit and Breast of Chicken with rice and a light tomato sauce. Everything was great! A couple glasses of Vin Rouge and we were set back $57 Euros, a great meal, Merci.......

We last visited Lescure five years ago, on our honeymoon - and enjoyed it so much that we vowed to return the next time we were in Paris... we will not leave it so long next time! This small, family run, café is tucked away at the end of a side street (the Rue de Mondovi) near to the Place de la Concorde - and well worth seeking out. The café has been family-run since 1919, and they clearly take a pride in what they do and enjoy it immensely... and that love comes out in their wonderful cuisine, and the friendly/informal service they provide.
Yes, other reviewers are right, it IS small - but enter into the spirit of it and enjoy the occasion, have some banter with the waiting staff, and enjoy some of the best regional food in Paris (if you like duck, try their confit de canard - fantastic!).
You will not be shocked by the bill either....
