When in Paris, it really does make good sense to try their local cooking & the French certainly know their foie gras & duck dishes! Well, Au Petit Sud Ouest is a perfect choice then because first & foremost, they do anything duck soo well, the owners ( Chantal in particular ) & staff are very friendly & speak English and their prices are quite reasonable as well. Obviously this is the perfect recipe to have Tripadvisor readers keeping this place packed! As in an earlier review,
the place is filled with mostly tourists rather than locals ( proving the power of TA! ) but in my opinion, it only slightly takes away from the whole experience.
My husband had the grilled duck breast which we all agreed was the most delicious entree out of the three kinds we ordered. It was very tasty & grilled to perfection much like a great steak. I had the cassoulet which was quite heavy on the stomach due to the beans so sharing an order would have been a better choice. The duck confit was tasty and the starter salads served with foie gras would be a good introduction to it.
