“Worst meal in paris (and the most expensive one)!”
Reviewed March 4, 2013 via mobile

We were very upset and most disappointed from the dinner we had. We were explaind by the waiter (there is no english menu) that the lamb dish was for two people and the price for it is 31?. We waited 30 minutes for a very small dish that was served cold and was full of fat. In general it wasn't tasty at all and we had to eat a lot of baguette to be full... at the end of the meal we were shocked to find out that the price was per person!!!!! We were very disappointed to be left with a 77? (including 2 glasses of wine and a dessert) bill and with a bad taste in our mouth! The manager was an antipathetic person who didn't give a damm about our complaint. It was absolutely our Worst experience in paris! Not recommended!

“Excellent, but starting to feel the effects of its popularity”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

Great friendly place, fresh products, creative young chef. Nice selection of origional wines. Le Grand Pan is just starting to suffer for its popularity, longer wait for food, too crowded, staff more hassled. The team need to find a bigger place and move on to greater sucess. Srill an excellent place to eat.

“Modern Delicious Bistrot”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

In a warm decor, perfectly Pan seared scallops served with a creamy orange flavored sweet potatoes mash.
Tender veal cutlet with casserole of braised endives.
Good wine selection and pleasant service.

“Very Good, BUT.....”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

This is a very good restaurant but I would not recommend it for US visitors who want beef. That may be better done in the USA. On the other hand all the fiood was excellent. This is worth the trip. The main courses were Cabillaud that was cooked to perfection and a very large leg of lamp that required no knife and was most tasteful. The starting oysters were excellent but differed from the usual by the addition of parsley and olive oil along with a topping of what seemed like whipped cream. The second starter was a generous succulent tomato salad delecately flavored with herbs. The floating island dessert was wonderful but alas the fruit tart was good but pedestrian. The staff speaks English if one requires it. Note however, the restaurant is not easy to find using public transportation.

“well worth the effort”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

This restaurant is out of the way but worth the effort to get there. Recent positive reviews in the NY Times have ensured a full house every night. The restaurant is now too small for its success. The food is fresh and excellent. Wine list is varied and offers some decent choices for reasonable prices. The staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating.
