“Good italian restaurant”
Reviewed May 20, 2013 via mobile

We found this restaurant by chance and when we entered here, we realised it was a real italian restaurant and not just another one pretending to be. At first, our scepticism made us thing they were speaking italian just to seduce the tourists (which is not probably completely wrong but it makes the place more authentic) but we realized many real italians who used to come here were having their meals in this restaurant.. which is i think a real piece of evidence of good italian quality. Our pizzas were very good and the tiramisu excellent. We're Parisian, so we'll come back here next time we're craving for Italian food.

Thank Emmoux

“A beakerful of the warm south”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

Don't be put off by the grand name- this is an excellent medium priced restaurant where you can eat and enjoy really good Italian food and fool yourself that you are leaving misty Northern Europe as you drink 'a beakerful of the warm south'. Service is excellent, prices reasonable- and you could have a variety of pizzas if the rest of the menu didn't entice you. Very well placed for several Metro lines and the excellent Sevres-Saint Germain hotel opposite.

“Disney Italian...”
Reviewed August 6, 2012

The restaurant is fine - the food average. If you're American you'll probably love it, from the guitarist and singing waiter to the English menus. If you're European you probaby won't be so impressed. Pizza base was thick and not at all Napolese. Wine was ok. Service ok. Price ok. Not bad, but could easily have been a 'Real' Italian pizza restaurant in Oklahoma...

“Some disappointment”
Reviewed October 31, 2011

The restaurant is in a nice area, very close to the famous "Bon Marché" department store. This is a trendy location with a mix of locals and tourists. Considering this, prices are very reasonable (especially at lunch time where you can find menus) and outdoor seating can be very nice during warm and sunny days. The weak point is that the food has nothing exceptional (it used to be better before, according to some patrons). But, if you wander in the area...

“Respond to mcgd”
Reviewed April 21, 2009

As an expat who enjoys this restaurant from time to time, I just wanted to say that neither the guitar player nor the opera singer are annoying They simple add a little "local color". There is no need to tip (although a few centimes is all that would be expected) and if you simply say "no thank you" to the CD, there is no pressure. I am always disappointed when the entertainment isn't there!!! This is a great restaurant where folks can have a lot of fun. The food is good and the owner a real gentleman.
